ZURICH CITIZENS NEWS
Popular Pastime
Still one of the most popular spots in the community
for many of the older citizens is the basement room of the
Township Hall, in Zurich, where dozens of men gather daily
to pass their time away at a game of cards. Left to right,
are Gib Ducharme, Joe Gelinas, Tom Meyers, Edward Ha-
berer, Andrew Thiel, Peter Neuschwanger and Melvin Brown.
While only four of those seated are in the game at one time,
the rest of the group seem to enjoy watching just as much.

well for this young man for the
service he has given.
On Saturday last, many from
this parish and surrounding at-
tended the funeral of the late
Mrs. Josephine Brisson, where
requiem mass was celebrated
in St. Boniface Church and the
remains laid to rest in the
church yard cemetery, Mrs.
Brisson was born in this vicin-
ity 89 years ago, the daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Bejamin Char-
rette and had resided in this
parish and surrounding her en-
tire life. She was of amiable
character and loved by all. She
leaves behind to mourn her loss
four sons and three daughters,
also three sisters. On behalf
of this community we offer the

Changes in the Parish
About the year 1851 there
were changes in this new set-
tlement. Immigrants came in
from different parts of the Do-
