Mr. and Mrs, Felix Booge. mans, of Burlington, and Mrs. Pearl Passmore attended the Cooper -Kerslake wedding at lvlount Zion United Church, London, on Saturday, April 9. Flowers in the United Church Sunday morning were in loving memory of John Passmore, placed there by the family. General meeting of the UCW will be held Monday, April 25, at 8:30 p,m. Mr. and Mrs. Laird Mickle attended the past masters' ban- quet and ladies' night Wednes- day evening of last week in Exeter. Mr. and Mrs, Karl Haslip and family, of Burlington, were week -end guests with Mrs. Eric Kennedy and Mr. Ira Geiger. Mr. and Mrs, Harry Snell, and David Beaver, Exter, spent a few days at the end of the week with Mr. and Mrs. Don Rigby, in Blenheim. Mr. and Mrs. Snell attended the funeral on Friday for the late Claire Rigby, of Hamilton, brother of Don Rigby. Miss Karen McGregor, •of Brucefield, was a guest last week with Miss Catharine Anne Christie. WINS SCHOLARSHIP David Noakes, BSc, who is. majoring in honors zoology at the University •of Western On- tario and working for his MSc degree, has been awarded a post graduate scholarship of $3000 for the year, beginning in September, 1966. Supper Held The hot turkey and ham smorgasbord held at St. Paul's Anglican Church Saturday af- ternoon was very successful, and well patronized. Thirty dinners were sent out. Prizes were donated by local business- men and PUG, Chiselhurst UCW April Meeting An Easter theme was car- ried throughout the April meet- ing of the United Church. Women of Chiselhurst United Church Tuesday afternoon, President Mrs, R. Taylor chair- ed the meeting, with the wor- ship given by Mrs. Russell Brock, assisted by Mrs, William Brintnell. Mrs, Harold Parker delivered the Easter message, and an Easter skit was presented by several of the ladies. Mrs. Brock gave the report of the Presbyterial held at Clinton. Mrs. Robert. Kinsman and Mrs. A. Ross rendered a piano duet, Hostesses Mrs. Jack Brint- nell, Mrs. Brock and Mrs: Ross Riley served lunch, followed by a successful bake sale. The president closed with the bene- diction, 0 Hensall Brigade Answers Fire Call Hensall firemen were called Saturday afternoon to extin- guish a fire in the undergrowth of a bush owned by Jim Mc- Ewen, behind the dam, lot 10, concession one, in Hay Town- ship. It took the firemen an hour to put the fire out with water pumped from the creek, The bush covers 10 acres with half of the undergrowth burned, Married in Bayfield Mr. and Mrs. Michael Watch were married in the Bayfield Baptist Church, by Rev. Ivor Bodenham. The bride is the former Jean Hyde, daughter and Mr. and Mrs. Alex Hyde, Kippen, and the groom is the nephew of Mr. and Mrs. James Bogart, Iona Station. The couple will reside in London, where both are graduates of the London College of Bible and Missions, (Photo by Jack Doerr) District Director Visits Hensall The annual district meeting of Huron district 23 was held at Amber Rebekah Lodge on Wednesday afternoon, April 13, at 3 p.m. Fifty past noble Brands of the district attended from Goderich, Clinton, Brus- sels, Seaforth, Exeter and Hen' sail, The incoming district deputy president, Miss Jean Scott, of Seaforth, was introduced and welcomed. After the business meeting a short program was enjoyed, each lodge providing a num- ber. Dinner was served in the lower lodge hall by officers of the lodge.
