the Legion social Friday eve-
ning were: three-piece luggage
set, won by Mrs. Carman Park,
RR 1, Kirkton; blanket, Wilma
Dalyrmple, Kipp e n. E'. R.
Davis, president of the Legion,
drew the tickets. Draw was
sponsored by Ladies' Auxiliary.
At the Chinese auction held
Friday afternoon by grade 7 at
Hensall Public School, $28 was
realized, which will be equally
shared with Bunny Bundle and
the Red Cross. Brad Mousseau
was the auctioneer, Mrs, Don
Jolly is the teacher.

Stewart, of Seaforth, retired
United Church minister, sup-
plied for Rev, Howard F. Cur-
rie, who is confined to his 'home Thomson, of Hamilton, were

golden wedding anniversary.
Mrs. Hess returned home with
Mr. and Mrs. Philip Routley
and called on George Hess, who
is a patient at South Huron
Hospital.

Plans Advancing For International
Plowing Match This Fall In Huron
Financial details concerning with Seaforth town and PUC.
the 1966 International Flowing
Match, scheduled for Huron
County in October, were work-
ed out Monday when represen-
tatives of the local committee
met in Toronto with the execu-
tive of the Ontario Plowman's
Association. The event gets
under way October 11 at the
site in McKillop, north of Sea -
f orth.
While details were not re-
leased, the budget for the big
match is expected to exceed
$30.000.
The local group was headed
by co-chairmen Gordon Mc -
Gavin, Walton, and Larry Snid-
er, Exeter, and included Reeve
Don McKenzie, of Ashfield; W.
D. Stephenson, Seaforth, and
Bill Hanly, treasurer, Goderich.
The match, sponsored by the
Ontario Plowman's Association,
is expected to attract more than
100,000 spectators during the
four days of activity.
.At a preliminary meeting in
McKillop Township Hall at
Winthrop last week, representa-
tives of the OPP reviewed with
the local committee, progress
being made in local arrange-
ments.
Mayor of the Tented City,
James M. Scott, described site
preparations, The international
event will be based on a 700 -
acre site in McKillop, adjacent
to Seaforth, with 'headquarters
centred on Scott Farms. Here
the Tented City — a group of
more than 200 exhibitors—will
be located on a 100 -acre area.
Acres to Plow
Nearby will be between 250
and 300 acres of sod and stub-
ble ready to test the skill of
plowmen from across Canada
and Europe.
Mr. Scott said 145 acres had
been set aside for parking. Re-
ferring to water and sewer
facilities, he said these were
being arranged in conjunction

with providing cables for TV

ing the committee arranging
for livestock exhibits.
A feature, the meeting was
told, would be a display of
manufactured goods from Hur-
