-H Club Named
Accesory Queens

The first meeting of the Zur-
ich II 4-H girls was held at
Mrs. Jim Parkin's on March 1,
at 7 o'clock. We opened with
the pledge and being there was
aio roll nail we then had the
business part of our 'meeting.
Linda Webb nominated Deb-
bie Merner, and Tanya Parkins
seconded the motion. Debbie is
now our president, Lindh Webb
was nominated by Marg Geiger
and seconded by Nancy' Miller
to be press secretary,
We decided to rotate so every-
one would have a chance at
being secretary. Our club name
is Zurich Accessory Queens.
Our next meeting is to be
on Saturday afternoon, 2 o'clock
at Mrs. Parkins', We discussed
the "contents of the sewing
basket" and "the finished look".
The second meeting of the
Zurich Accesosry Queens took
place on March 5 at 2 o'clock
at Mrs. Parkins' home. We
opened our meeting with the
4-H pledge, ,followed by our
roll call.
The business part of the
meeting came next. We de-
cided that our next meeting
would be at 7 o'clock March 17
at Mrs Parkins' home. Next
meeting Mrs. Webb will bring
material for all of our scarves.

Mr. Louis Prang recently sold
three De Laval cream separa-
tors in one day, The De Laval
has gained an enviable repu-
tation in this section.
Mr. Robert W. Williams is
recovering from a severe at-
tack of •pneumonia.
The members of the senior
YPA of the Evangelical Church
recently held their annual elec-
tion of officers which resulted
as follows: President, Muriel
Preeter; vice-president, Pearl
Wurtz; second vice-president,
Erna Fritz; third vice-presi-
dent, Flossie Hartleib; fourth
vice-president, Milton Heyrock;
treasurer, Earl Weido; organ-
ist, Leila Siebert; assistant or-
ganist, Miranda Brown; librar-
Linda Webb read the last
minutes and Tanya Parkins
seconded them. Carold Ginger -
kb was then picked to be press
secretary for •the 'meeting. Af-
ter this we discussed "planning
your accessories".

The members of the Luther
League of the Lutheran Church
enjoyed themselves heartily at
a sleigh -ride party held at the
home of Mr. and Mr. Louis
Kalbfleisoh on Tuesday evening.
The evening was ideal for such
an outing and the youth re-
ported having a good time.
Miss R. Eilber, of Zurich, has
taken charge of E. Rannie's
millinery department.
40 Years Ago
MARCH, 1926
Mr. Philip Foster and Mr.
David Fuss have installed radio
receiving sets in their homes,
purchased from W. G. Hess &
Sons.
Mr. Kenneth Routledge, tra-
velling for D. M. Ferry Seed
Co., of Detroit, sailed for Eng-
land on the steamer "Celtic"
from Boston on Sunday, March
14.
A few more real estate deals
have been put through on Sat-
urday when Hr. Herbert Mous-
seau purchased, from the estate
of the late Maggie McCormick,
the building now occupied by
Mr. G. Holtzman as a dwelling
and the forepart is being used
by the Women's Institute for
a hall. Mr. Holtzman has pur-
chased the neat little dwelling
property of Mr. Andrew Price
on Mill Street, now occupied
by Mr. H. Angel. Possession
in both cases will be given this
spring. We understand Mr.
Mousseau intends making con-
siderable changes on the Mc-
Cormick property, as he will
solely use it for living quarters
and it will be a big convenience
to his garage, as it is along-
side.

helping with the maple sugar
season,
Mr. and Mrs. Andrew F. Hess
were at London on Wednesday.
Their second son, Paul, we are
sorry to say, is not enjoying
his usual health owing to ear
trouble.

MARCH, 1941
Miss Herta Goman, of Mil-
verton, a former teacher at
Zurich school, visited with
friends here.
Mr. Keith Westlake, Bronson
Line, Stanley, has been taken
to hospital suffering from an
attack of appendicitis.
Mr. Gordon Howald has pur-
chased the dwelling property
from Mr. Sam Baker in the
westerly part of town. The
house is now occupied by Mr.
Cyrus Schock.
Mr. Sam Hey, of Blake, had
•a close call on Saturday from
losing his blacksmith shop as
the roof caught on fire. Men
sawing wood near by ran to
help extinguish the flames and
soon had it out.
15 Years Ago
MARCH, 1951
A birthday dinner was held
at the home of Mrs. William
Hess by the family on the oc-
casion of her 80th birthday.
Mr. Ralph Uttley, of Wind-
sor, was a recent visitor at the
home of his aunt and uncle,
Mr, and Mrs. William Witmer.
A very good sheet of ice is
again on the local rink, in fact
some say no better ice was had
all winter. The weatherman
sure has his signs crossed up
this winter.

places of interest for a few
weeks, has returned and is con-
tinuing her duties as house-
keeper for Mr. Conrad Sohilbe.

MARCH, 1956
Mr. Ed Edighoffer, shoe mer-
chant of Zurich, who spent two
months in Western Canada vis-
iting his children and other
friends, has returned to his
business here. Mr. Edighoffer
was not at all impressed by the
40 degree below weather in the
west.
Mr. Patrick O'Brien was tak-
en to St. Joseph's Hospital for
treatment this past week.
Mrs. Milton Oesch was pleas-
antly surprised on Friday eve-
ning when, after choir practice,
the choir members honoured
her on her birthday. This
month marks the fifteenth
year of her service as organist
and choir leader of the EUB
Church and she was presented
with c r y s t al. Mrs. Oesch
thanked the group for their
thoughtfulness and gift and
also their co-operation in the
past. After this a social hour
was spent.
Week -end visitors with Mr.
and Mrs. Ward Fritz were: Sgt.
Stuart Smith, of RCAF, Rivers,
Manitoba, and Sgt. Ernest Bark-
er, RCAF headquarters, Ottawa,
Ontario.
Kippen East Women's Institute Will
Enjoy Dinner at Expense of Losing Side
The March meeting of Kip -
pen East Women's Institute was
held at the home of Mrs. Rodger
Hoornaert, with Mrs. Joyce
Cooper as co -hostess.
The president, Mrs. Vern Al-
derdice, conducted the opening
exercises and the roll 'call was
answered by naming an old im-
plement and the new one which
replaces it. The secretary's re-
port was submitted by Mrs.
James Drummond, and the
treasurer's report by Mrs. Rob-
ert Bell. Sunshine report by
Nlrs. William Kyle.
Mrs. William J. F. Bell's side
lost out in the attendance con-
test so a banquet will be held
in Zurich on April 5 at 6:30
p.m., when the losing side will
entertain the winners, led by
Mrs. Jack Sinclair,
A box of groceries was do-
nated and a motion made that
proceeds from its sale be do-
nated to Bunny Bundle. Mrs.
Campbell Eyre was the lucky
winner and the Bunny Bundle
will be richer by nine dollars,
Steven S a r a r a s doing the
honors.
The questionnaires were
handed in and the April meet-
ing reviewed, Mrs. G, MacLean
gave an interesting and
mative history of Morris Town -
Mrs. Ross Sararas Chaired the
program, Mrs, Robert Kinsman
gave a thought-provoking talk
on the motto: "What is our
generation leaving behind?",

gave courtesy remarks. Several

out the evening.
