Hensall Man Top Zurich institute plans Supper With

named chairman of the advis-
ory vocational committee of
the Central Huron secondary

tute meeting was held at the
home of Mrs. Urban Pfile. The
roll call was answered with an
agricultural product grown in
the district and a product made
from it. Agricultural and Ca-
nadian industry was the theme
for the program.
Mrs. D. Geiger read an ar-
ticle on agriculture and vege-
table products grown in the far
north through special care and
experiments.
Special guests were the lead-
ers and girls of the 4-H club.
The girls presented a skit pre-
pared by them, on the lessons
learned about sewing of sleep-
ing garments, the projects of
South Huron Clubs.
Mrs. Morris Webb and Mrs.
Parkins were specially com-
mended for their fine leader-
ship. The girls also favored
the WI with their musical
A number of Christmas greet-
ings were read. Mrs. J. Ban-
nister, a former member, wrote
she misses the WI meetings as
none are held in Little Current.
A letter of thanks was read
from the Red Cross for the
$192.45. The letter also ad-
vised help is freely provided to
homes needing Red Cross sup-
plies.
The WI served lunch for the
bean board meeting on Decem-
ber 2.
Plans were made to have a
supper and bazaar on March
30, at the Community Hall, all
proceeds are for Blue Water
Rest Home.
Mrs. Brokenshire was elected
convenor of the supper and Mrs.
Parkins convenor for the ba-
zaar. Any assistance toward
this worthwhile project will be
appreciated.

Honoured On
25 th Anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Elam W.
Shantz, of RR 3, Zurich, were
very pleasantly surprised by
their family and relatives on
Sunday in honour of their
silver wedding anniversary.
They were the recipients of
many beautiful and useful gifts
including a lovely set of match-
ing coffee and end tables from
their family.
Elam Shantz and Vera Ropp
were married in the Zurich
Mennonite Church on January
15, 1941, by the late Stephen
Peaehey and are parents of
three sons and two daughters;
Douglas, of New Hambuxg;
Gerald, of Fort Ogden, Florida;
and Richard, Norma and Nancy
at home.
The highlight of the after-
noon was a telephone call of
congratulations from their son,
Gerald, who, with his grand-
father Samuel Ropp, of Zur-
ich is spending the winter
months in Florida.
Guests for the happy occasion
The Zurich Recreation Committee are planning to hold'
classes in Golf Instructions during the coming months, for
both adults and children. The classes will be held in
the Zurich Community Centre, and a nominal fee will be
charged.
