this week attending the West-
ern Ontario figure skating com-
petitions held Thursday, Friday
and Saturday at the Riverside
Arena. The top skaters will
skate Saturday night at Wind-
sor Arena, which will be open
to the public.
The ladies of Kippen East
Hensall Librarian
Retires After
Years of Service
Mrs. Robert Cameron, who
has been a very efficient and
popular librarian in Hensall for
the past 35 years, has tendered
her resignation, but will con-
tinue in a supervisory capacity
at the request of the board.
In 1948, Mrs, Cameron at-
tended a short course for li-
brarians and having passed her
examinations, received her "E"
certificate for librarians.
Mrs. Hilliard Lawrence, of
Hensall, has been appointed
librarian to replace Mrs. Cam-
eron.

MRS. MAUDE REDDEN,
WI are busy this week quilting
a "Rose of Sharon' quilt at the
home of Mrs. W. J. F. Bell.
The beautiful quilt, 96 inches
square, will be the prize in a
draw during February. On
Monday 17 ladies attended the
quilting and enjoyed a pot -luck
dinner on the agenda.
Mr. and Mrs. Laird Mickle
were in London Sunday evening
to hear the program presented
by the University of Western
Ontario concert band held at
Thames Hall, UWO.
Mr. and Mrs. Stewart Mc-
Queen and Mrs. Harry Snell
spent Thursday with Mr. and
Mrs. Percy Bartlett at Thames -
ford.
S/Sgt R. A. MacKinnon, who
is instructing' a senior N.C.O.
course at Camp Borden spent
the week -end with his mother

Euchre Party at
Lodge Hall
Friday evening the CP&T
committee of the IOOF and
Amber Rebekah lodges, Hen-
sall, held a euchre party in the
Lodge Hall with seven tables
in play.
Winners were: Ladies, first,
Mrs. Ed Munn; consolation,
Mrs. Jack Brintnell; men, first,
Percy Campbell; consolation,
Ed Munn; lone hands, Ray Con-
sitt.
In the draw Mrs. A. J, Foster
won the basket of groceries,
and Mrs. Glenn Bell the box of
chocolates.

Plan Events
The Women's Missionary So-
ciety of Carmel Presbyterian
Church held their first meeting
of the new year Thursdaay af-
ternoon. President Mrs. Earl
Campbell, who presided for the
meeting, opened with a short
meditation.
Mrs. Harvey Hyde took the
devotion which was Bible study,
assisted by Mrs. Malcolm Dou-
gall. Prayer by the president
closed the meeting, after which
the Ladies' Aid met for a brief
session to discuss projects for
1966, which include, "The On-
tario Hydro Show Time" on
April 12, and a bazaar and bake
sale on Saturday, November 5.
PRESENT PROGRAM
The Blake Busy Bees from
Blake Mennonite Church, com-
prised of Eleanor, Grace, and
Doris Riley, Ruth Soper, Cheryl
Clausius and Mary Margaret
Gingerich, under the direction
of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Ginger -
jell, presented a Christmas pro-
gram at the Queensway nurs-
ing home Sunday afternoon,
and also presented gifts to the
nineteen patients.
Mr. and Mrs. R.G. Love, of
Caro, Mich. attended the funer-
al of the late Albert Keys, held
at Hopper-- Hockey Funeral
Horne in Exeter on Friday.
They also visited with Mr. and
Mrs, J.E. McEwen,
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Love
and family, London; Mr. and
Mrs, Ken McKay and family,
Mr. and Mrs. Ross Love, Kip -
pen and. Mr. and Mrs. Keith
Love and family, Zurich, were
recent guests of Mr. and Mrs.
J.E. McEwen.
Hensall Institute
Program Proves
Quite Interestiing
Hensall Women's Institute
met in the Legion Hall on
Wednesday evening for their
citizenship and education meet-
ing and had as their guest
speaker, D, Solomon, of Exeter,
on the staff of South Huron
District High School, who gave
a most interesting and colorful
talk on Trinidad, its people and
customs.
The speaker was introduced
by Miss Mattie Ellis and thank-
ed by Mrs. Walker Carlile.
The chair was taken by presi-
dent Mrs. Beverly Beaton who
extended a welcome to mem-
bers and guests. Roll call was
answered by "As Canadian citi-
zens, what do we take for
granted". During the business
period plans were outlined for
marathon teas to be held for
the winter months.
Mrs. John Corbettt presided
for a very enjoyable program
which consisted of the motto:

meeting in her car.

son and Mrs. V. M. Pyette.

Arrange March
Hensall Kinettes held their
regular m e e t i n g Wednesday
evening at the home of Mrs,
Robert Baker. Several `thank
you' notes were read by the
secretary.
It was announced that the
March of Dimes campaign will
be held Monday, January 31,
from 7 to 8 p.m., when the vil-
lage will be canvassed.
Marching Mother is Mrs.
Grant McGregor; general. chair-
man, Mrs. William Fuss; fi-
nance, Mrs. John Baker; re-
cruiting, Mrs. Bob Caldwell;
supply and publicity, Mrs. Har-
