Dear Doris
- DEAR DORIS - Should your
'escort pin on the corsage or
should you yourself? It's not
very often that boys here buy
corsages and they may not
know.
Josie
DEAR JOSIE - Either way.
The corsage may arrive ahead
of time, from the florist. When
Johnnie arrives and you answer
the door, your flowers are al-
ready perched on your shoulder
with stems down, the way a
flower grows.
Or he may bring it along
when he •comes. You open and
athnire it; then you, your moth-
er or your boy, friend, pin it on.
William Getz, of Dashwood.

Slow Sel9iig
Motorists are lagging slightly
behind last year's pace in ob-
taining their new licence plates,
the Ontario Department of
Transport reported this week.
By January 2, new plates and
permits had been obtained for
10.8 per cent of registered pas-
senger cars, station wagons and
motorcycles. The 1966 plates
and permits went on sale De-
cember 1.
With 191,327 sets of plates
and permits issued, there are
still an estimated 1,580,000 ob-
tained between now and the
issuing deadline of February
28. They are sold at 280 issu-
ing offices throughout the prov-
ince.
At the same date a year ago,
11.4 per cent of new plates and
permits (191,792) had been
issued.
"If motorists wish to avoid
the delays and inconveniences
of long line-ups, they can still
do so by obtaining their plates
and permits in the next few
weeks," said Transport Minis-
ter Irwin Haskett.
