don, visited Sunday with Mr.
and Mrs. Laird Mickle and Ann.
Allan Olson, London, is a pa-
tient in Victoria Hospital, Lon-
don, with a heart condition. He
was admitted Saturday last.
Mr. Olson is the son-in-law of
Mr. and Mrs. Wilbert Dilling.
Mrs. Lou Simpson has re-
turned from a week's vacation
spent in Rockford, Ill.
Hensall Women's Institute
has received an invitation to be
guests of Crediton Women's In-
stitute, Wednesday, December
1. Anyone wishing to go are

Murray Baker received in-
juries to his foot in an accident
Monday afternoon and will be
-confined to his home for a
week. Murray, who was work-
ing on a roof, had stepped onto
the ladder to come down when
it slipped at the bottom causing
him to fall 12 feet to the

The United Church Women
of St. Andrew's United Church,
Kippen, held a most successful
bazaar, home baking and tea in
the church school rooms on Sat-
urday and realized $181.70.

Hay; sewing, Mrs. A. Binnen-
dyk; produce, Mrs. Ross Broad -

Obituary
MRS. WILLIAM DUNLOP
Mrs. William Dunlop, a resi-
dent of Hensall for the past
year, passed away very sudden-
ly with a heart attack at her
apartment on Wednesday eve-
ning.
The former Mary McClymont,
she came to Canada nine years
ago. ,She was 60 years of age.
Surviving are a son, Thomas
Dunlop, London, England; four
daughters, Mrs. William (Wil-
helmina) Shearer, RR 2, Kippen;
Janet, London; May, Watford;
Moira, Montreal. Her husband
predeceased her some years ago
in Scotland.
Public funeral service was
held from the Bonthron funeral
chapel on Saturday at 12 noon,
conducted by Rev. J. C. Boyne.
Interment was in McTaggart's
Cemetery.

a birthday on Tuesday evening
for which Mrs. Elizabeth Riley
was hostess at her home, was
honored by neighbours and
friends who presented her with
a lovely potted plant.
Presentation address was read
by Miss M. Ellis and presenta-
tion by Mrs. Riley. For enter-
tainment euchre was enjoyed
with four tables in play and
winners were: first prize, Mrs.

lucky Cup, Mrs. J. Ferguson;

Amber Rebekah Lodge Wednes-
day evening, presided over by
noble grand Mrs. George Clif-
ton, plans were discussed for
the annual Christmas meeting
to be held the second meeting
in December, when members
will exchange gifts, and a don-
ation for the Sick Children's
Hospital will be received.
A social hour of games, cro-
kinole, and euchre followed
with lunch was enjoyed.

Discuss Proiect
The seventh meeting of the
Thrifty Kippenettes was held at
the home of Mrs. Robert Gem-
mell. The meeting opened with
the 4-1I pledge and roll call
answered by 11 members.
The secretary, Dianne Mc-
Kay, read the minutes of the
last meeting, and Marion Durst
was nominated secretary. The
group discussed the demonstra-
tion they are to have for
Achievement Day, and learned
how to hem button holes and
monograms.
The meetlne closed with "The
Queen". The next meeting was
held at the hone of Marion
Durst, Wednesday evening, No-
vember 17, at 7 p.m.

cently, when, for the first time
since its inception, the work
was put on by its own team.

Mrs, W. 3, F. Bell, the district
director, gave her report of the
rally held in Walton, October
4, and the hoard meeting in
Hensall, November 8. Treas-
urer's report by Mrs. Robert
Bell showed a bank balance of
51,112.99.
Mrs. Robert Gemmell chaired
the program which consisted of
jingle bells being sung in uni-
son, musical numbers by Mr.
Cecil Pullman and i\frs. Ross
Broadfoot, an excellent history
of Goderich Township by Mrs.
June Cooper, and the motto: "a
community is no greater than
its inhabitants", by Mrs. Arthur
Finlayson.
A very interesting, and ques-
tion, period was enjoyed when
Allan Scott, of Egmondville,
spoke on the "problem of the
Indian and his integration". Mr.
Scott was thanked by Mrs. Rob-
ert Gemmell and courtesy re-
marks were given by Mrs. Harry
Caldwell.
Meeting closed with a con-
test and singing of "The Queen".
Lunch was served by •the host-
ess and committee.
