MR. AND MRS. LEO PAUL BEDARD were married
recently in St. Boniface Church, Zurich, by Father Richard
Bedard. The bride is Shirley Anne Debus. daughter of Mr.
•and Mrs. Leonard Debus, Zurich, and the groom is the son
of Mr. and Mrs. Napoleon Bedard, also of Zurich. The couple
will reside in Zurich.

in Pigeon, Mich., with Mrs. Wil-
liam Schumacher.
Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Keyes,
Debbie and Lisa, ,of Oromacto,
N.B., are vacationing with the
latter's parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Lloyd Fahner., as well as visit-
ing relatives at Grand Bend and
her sister and family, Mr. and
Mrs. Bill Becker, of Dashwood.
Wilfred Mclsaac and Mr. and
Mrs. Don Mclsaac and Patricia
returned to Detroit after vaca-
tioning with Mrs. Lucinda Mc -
Isaac.
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Wilds
visited with the former's sister
and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Ron
Lee, in North Bay over the
week -end.
Mrs. Joe Wilds visited with
her daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Ron
Lee, at North Bay.
Ladies' Aid
The September meeting of
Zion Lutheran Ladies' Aid was
held with group three and Mrs.
Lloyd Rader, c o n v e n o r, in
charge of devotions and lunch.
Pastor William Getz continued
the topic on Christian Disciple-
ship. Mrs. Leonard Schenk
read a poem, "God's Good Sa-
maritans".
The president, Mrs. Leonard
Schenk, dealt with the business.
Reports showed it had been a
busy and profitable summer.
The Aid catered to a wedding
September 18. The Ladies' Aid
fowl supper will be held in
November.

Clarence Desi ar Zine
Clarence Desjardine, 63,
passed away at his residence,
Stephen Township, following a
lengthy illness.
Besides his wife the former
Beulah Weigand, he is survived
by two daughters, Mrs. Harold
(Aileen) Brown, Granville, N.S.;
Mrs. Glen (Marilyn) Rader, of
Dashwood; two sons, Wilmer
and Ronald, Stephen Township;
three sisters, Mrs. Edward Vin-
cent, Winnipeg; Mrs. Emila Des-
jardine, Grand Bend; Mrs. Elsie
Bestard, Stephen Township;
four brothers, William and
Elmer, Stephen Township; Lee -
some and Wilfred, Exeter; four
grandchildren and three great-
grandchildren.
The body rested at the T.
Harry Hoffman funeral home
until Tuesday when Rev. Har-
old Johnston, of Exeter, and
Rev. T. Wattam, of Grand Bend,
officiated, with interment in
Grand Bend cemetery.
Pallbearers were Leland and
Norris Desjardine, Irwin Bes-
tard, Lorne Haugh, Bill and
Don Weigand.
Elmer Pickering
Elmer Pickering, 72, passed
away at his late residence, con-
cession 17, Stephen Township,
on Thursday, September 16. He
is survived by his wife, the
former Martha Baynham; seven
daughters, Mrs. Bruce (Eva)
Taylor and Mrs. William (Iva)
Latta, both of London; Mrs.
Laurence (Hazel) Scott, Mrs.
Willis (Marilyn) Rock, Mrs. Har-
vey (Betty), Steeper. all of Mc-
Gillivray Township; Mrs. Or-
ville (Rena) Truemner, Grand
Bend; Mrs. Valere (Grace) Den-
omme. of RR 1, Arva; nine sons,
Earl, Jack and Ross. of Stephen
Township; Harvey, Glen, Don-
ald and Leonard, of London;
James and Kenneth at home;
one sister, Mrs. Ethel Bullock,
of McGillivray Township; 24
grandchildren and two great-
grandchildren.
The body rested •at the T.
Harry Hoffman funeral home
until Sunday when Rev. R.
Hiltz, of Exeter, and Rev.
Maines, •of Londsboro, officiat-
ed, with interment in Grand
Bend cemetery. Six sons were
pall bearers.
Killed by Tractor
John Guinnan, 75, retired
farmer, of RR 3, Dashwood, was
found crushed to death by a
tractor and five -furrow plow on
lot 11, concession 16, East Wil-
liams, between 5 and 6 p.m.,
by his nephew, Mike Ryan. Dr.
Fred Boyes, of Parkhill, was
the corner. The body was taken
to the T. Harry Hoffman funeral
home.
His wife, the former Loretta
Morrison, passed away in 1927.
Ile is survived by two sisters,
Mrs. Michael (Marie) Ryan, of
RR 3, Dashwood, and Sister St,
Michael, of the O.S.U., London;
one brother, Rev. V. J. Guin-
nan, of the University of St.
Thomas, Eastern Texas; also a
number of nieces and nephews.
The service was held on
Wednesday, September 22, at
10:30 a.m., at Church of Our
Lady, Mount Carmel, with Fa-
ther Clarke officiating.
OBITUARY
EDMUND GIEGER
Edmund Geiger, of London,
former Hensall resident, passed
away suddenly athis residence
on Sunday, September 19.
Surviving are his wife, Wil-
helmina Ferriss.; one daughter,
(Mary) Mrs. Vern Spray, of
Willowdale; Ruth and Ralph
(deceased); two brothers, Syd-
ney Geiger, Gore Bay; Ira Geig-
er, Ilensall, and one sister, Mrs.
Erie Kennedy. Hensall; also
seven grandchildren.
Funeral service was held on
Wednesday from the George E.
Logan and Sons funeral chapel,
London. Interment in Mount
Pleasont Cemetery.
