DEAR DORIS -- • Could you
please tell me how I could get
the name of a certain Catholic
correctional school.
A friend of urine was sent to
one, but I have never heard
from her, even though the day
she left she said she would
write.
Lonely Hank
DEAR HANK — Ask her
mother. Such schools have
rules about letters, and she may
not be allowed to write to any-
one who is not a relative.
Her mother could at least
give her a message from you.
DEAR DORIS—My new hus-
band has been building our
home with his dad's help. Now
his dad died suddenly and he
has lost interest. The rooms
are not finished.
All he cares about is his
mother. who can take care of
herself. He keeps telling peo-
ple he will sell our house. What
should I do? Should I let him
sell and go with him and his
mom. or should I stick to my
side?
Do you think I should talk to
his mother about it? She seems
to think a lot of me, but I don't
know.
Married Six Months
DEAR MARRIED—Your dis-
heartened mate was probably
very close to both mother and
dad — maybe definitely over-
protected. Now that father is
not there, he lacks what it takes
to pursue the goal of a finished
home.
A talk with his mother might
reveal that she has no intention
of letting her son's family move
in with her. Try it. And be

Grain Treatments
For Bunt Problems
Treating wheat seed with
mercurial or chlorobenzen seed
dressing will control common
bunt or stinking smut,
"These fungicides are effec-
tive because bunt fungus spores
stick to the outside of the seeds
where the can be readily
killed," says Professor C. B.
Kelly, botany department, On-
tario Agricultural C o 11 e g e,
Guelph. "However," he con-
tinues, "these chemicals do not
take the place of proper seed
cleaning. Both should be
done."
Although chlorobenzene com-
pounds are safer to apply, espe-
cially when treatment is done
by the farmer himself, the mer-
curial seed treatments have the
added advantage of preventing
seed rot and seedling blight
which may be a problem if
there is a spell of wet, cool
weather following s e e d i n g.
However, neither of these
chemical treatments prevent
wheat leaf rust; this can only
be controlled by growing a var-
iety resistant to leaf rust fun-
gus. Loose smut of wheat can
not be avoided by using these
chemicals, either. Sowing reg-
istered seed of a loose smut
variety such as Genesee will
help. Good crop rotation, Pro-
fessor Kelly adds, is important
where take -all and cercospor-
ella foot rot diseases are a
problem.

DEAR DORIS—In 1956 I mar-
ried a pregnant woman. I was
unaware of her condition at
that time. (The baby belonged
to another man.)
I found out later that she had
been married some years ear-
lier and had not got a divorce.
Could you give me any informa-
tion as to how I can get out of
this situation?
Caught
DEAR CAUGHT—Have you
proof of the previous marriage?
If so, and she can provide no
evidence of subsequent divorce,
you are well on the way to hav-
ing your marriage declared in-
valid.
About the child: It needs to
be established that you were
not living together at time of
conception.
You need a lawyer!!
Dry Your Own
Flowers to reate
New Arrangement
Why not dry some of your
garden flowers for dried flower
arrangements? Dried flower
arrangements are beautiful and
it's fun to try your luck at this
art, note horticulturists with
the Ontario Department of
Agriculture.
Pick your flowers for drying
before they are fully opened,
since they open further as they
dry. Choose flowers that are
not overly wet, and pick them
before they wilt in the day's
heat. Treat soon after picking
and dry them quickly to pre-
serve their naturalness.
Some flowers you can air-
dry are cockscomb, lunaria or
honesty, Chinese lantern, sta-
tice, gomphrena or Globe amar-
anth and stye wflower. Pick
