Lutheran Women
Study Diets
The Lutheran Church Women
studied another chapter from
the book, "Women Beautiful",
at their regular monthly meet-
ing last Tuesday night. The
committee, Mrs. Elda Wagner,
Mrs. Arnold Merner and Mrs.
Earl Deichert, presented the
chapter, "What is your diet?"
In discussing the topic, the
committee pointed out that the
I word "diet" is familiar to every
American woman. The discus-
sion also revealed that in the
Bible the summary of every-
day foods at that time would
include bread, butter, cheese,
eggs, milk, fish, meat, salt and
honey—mueh the same as the
present day foods.
During business, reports were
given that 33 shut-in visits were
made; snacks were served to
Vacation Church School; trans-
portation was provided to Va-
cation Church School; Mrs.
Lorne Rader's group served
lunch to the mourners at the
Howald funeral; four large and
four small boxes of clothing
were packed and sent to Kit-
chener headquarteers.
The work committee asked
members to continue knitting
squares for afghans. Layettes
are to be assembled to be ready
for the next packing of cloth-
ing.
Mrs. Blackwell showed the
group pictures of two Cana-
dian missionaries in Africa,
Miss Lovina Holcomb and How-
ard Alsdorf. She urged mem-

JESUS CHRIST IS LORD!
There are two main sources of authority for Christian
worship and Christian behaviour. One is the writings of
the Fathers known as the Tradition of the Church. The
other is the written Word of God substantiated by the
Holy Spirit of God.
The writings of the Fathers tell us that there is such a
thing as a Holy War. At the time of the national emer-
gency a Christian is supposed to forget what he is or
who he is and take up arms..- This is one situation which
Jesus cannot handle.
The Bible says who so taketh man's life his blood will
be required sof Him. Who so taketh the sword shall
perish with the sword.
The Word of God and the tradition of the Fathers are
opposite to each other. Which will you choose? Your
eternal destiny depends on which you choose.
