She carried a crescent of dark pink roses .and white gardenias. Mrs. Shirley Passmore, Lon- don. caster -in-law of the bride, was matron of honor. Miss Sharon Smillie, London, and Miss Carole Westcatt, Hamilton, were her bridesmaids. They were gowned alike in street - length dresses of aqua sats peau featuring at the back a bateau train falling from the neckline with a large rose at the top. They wore rosette headpieces of the dress mater- ial held by a veil of the same color and carried a cascade of light pink roses and white Shasta daisies. Robert Boogemans, brother of the groom, was hest man, and Xavier Boogemans and Rene Boogemans, both brothers of the groom. ushered the guests. A reception was held in the church rooms where the bride's mother received guests wearing a pink carnation silk shantung two-piece ensemble with match- ing hat and corsage of dark pink roses. For travelling the bride wore a white cotton crochetted two- piece suit with pink accessor- ies and a corsage of pink cari ITEMS ABOUT HENSALL Mr, and Mrs. Harold Dilling, of Sarnia, are on a vacation in Europe for eight weeks. Upon their return they will take up residence in Scarborough where Mr. Dilling will be educational consultant •on the Scarborough school boad. Harold is the son of Mr. and Mrs, Wilbert Dilling, of Hensall. Miss Sandra Troyer, a grad- uate of Wells Academy, Lon• don, has accepted a position with Clarkson & Gordon, chart- ered accountants, London. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Hoy, Michael and Billy, are on a two weeks' vacation. Allan Reid is holidaying with two weeks vacation. Miss Mary Payne, of London, spent the week -end at her home here. The regular meeting of the Kippen East WI will be held on Wednesday, July 28, in the the cottage at Homestead Heights at 8 o'clock. Hostesses will be Mrs. Harry Caldwell and Mrs. Glenn Bell. Miss Mar- garet Chesney, of Seaforth, will show p i c t u r es of her trip through the west. Miss Patsy Van Wieren, of Hensall, is holidaying this week nations. Following the wedding trip to Florida the couple will reside in Burlington. Guests were present from Hamilton, Burlington, Delhi, Aylmer, London, Dashwood, Grand Bend, Exeter, Zurich Mr. and Mrs. Frans Booge- mans entertained the Booge- mans-Passmore wedding party following rehearsal Friday night at the home of Mrs. Pearl Passmore. with her aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Van Wieren, Mrs. T. Lavender, district commissioner; Mrs. Bob Baker, captain of Hensall Girl Guides, and Jane Smith and Margie Allan, Girl Guides, are camp- ing this week at Glen Mac, near Seaforth. Mr. and Mrs. Ecl Little are leaving this week -end for Este - van, Sask., where he will man- age a sales lot for Dennis Port. or. Ed, a life-long resident of the village, and was formerly on the staff of General Coach Works here. Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Cook and family are vacationing at Turnbull's Grove. Mrs. Jack Consitt, Larry, Billy and Dwight spent last week vacationing at the Shepherd Cottage, at Ipperwash. Mrs. May Gates, of Burling- ton, was a week -end guest with Mrs. Pearl Passmore. Mr. and Mrs. V. M. Pyette and Jane have returned from a pleasant vacation at Honey Harbour. Union services were observed in Carmel Presbyterian Church Sunday last with Hensall, Unit- ed Church worshipping with Mr. and Mrs. Ed Little and Cheryl visited with their daugh- ter, Marcia, at Blenheim, over the week -end. them. Rev. John C. Boyne, minister, for his sermon topic spoke on "Is Christ's Teaching Impractical?" The choir, under direction of Mrs, Beatrice Hess, sang for their selection, "I Will Sing", Mr, and Mrs. Thomas Taylor were plesantly surprised at their home Wednesday eve- ning when 20 neighbors and friends gathered to present them with a farewell gift, a purse of money, prior to their leaving to take up residence in Exeter at the end of July. Harry Horton spoke briefly and made the presentation. A so- cial evening was held and lunch served. Mrs. E. Chip - chase was in charge of arrange- ments. Miss Linda Mock is a patient in Toronto General Hospital, in the private patients' pavilion. Miss Margaret Smillie re- ceived word that she has been successful in her year's work at College of Education in To. receiving her type "A" teaching certificate. Margaret will be teaching high school in Toronto in September.
