MR, AND MRS. GUESS WHO were special guests at
the Zurich Lions Club annual ladies nite last Wednesday
in the Dashwood Community Hall. The only clue that can
be given to their identity is that they are the only bachelor
members of the local organization.
Miss Nancy Tessoff, of Royal
Oak, Michigan, are camping in
the Mernovedge cottage for a
few weeks at Ducharme's sum-
mer resort.
Mr. and Mrs. Morley Fourn-
ier and family spent Father's
Day at the home of the latter's
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Corri-
veau on this highway.
Already the cottages along
the lake are filling up now that
the closing of school has :again
given a long holiday and also
the annual vacation o.f those
who work in shops and offices.
This will continue until Labor
Day when again the roads lead-
ing to the lakes or other resorts
will pass on for another year.
Those who are living on this
highway will miss the speeding
traffic.
Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Cantin.
of Detroit, spent the week -end
in St. Joseph with the former's
mother, Mrs. Valerie Cantin.
Mr. and Mrs. John Mahoney,
of Mount Carmel, and Mr. and
Mrs. Harry Deitrich and family,
of the Goshen Line south, spent
Father's Day at the home of
Mr. and Mrs. Dolph Sopha.

Dr. B. B. Codwell, Senior Chemist, Crime Detection Labor-
atory, R.C.M.P., Ottawa, in a lecture on "Recent Studies
on Alcohol and Driving" at the 1964 Ontario Institute on
Alcohol Studies revealed that "improvement in testing
makes clear the involvement of alcohol in highway deaths".
Reporting on recent Michigan, Illinois' detailed studies, Dr.
Co!dwell listed findings as follows:
Alcohol blood level of .04-1-2 drinks)—slight impairment
Alcohol blood level of .06—(2-3 drinks)—risk twice that of
none
Alcohol blood level of .08—(3.4 drinks)—significant impair-
ment
Alcohol blood level of .10—(4.5 drinks)—significant increase
of impairment
Alcohol blood level of .15—(6-10 drinks)—all drivers seri-
ously impaired
