What About Baseball?
Is Zurich going to have a
men's baseball team this year?
As of this writing (Monday) we
have not heard any more on
the subject than a few guys
asking, "when are they going to
have a practice". We are new
in Zurich and find it hard to
believe that everything is left
until the "last dog is hung" be- c:att5 for the coning season.

Fishing Still Slow
Trout fishermen have not
much to be happy about yet.
The only good catch we have
heard about was made by Ray
McKinnon. However, he had
to travel back .home to Carnp-
bellford to make his catch. The
smelt fishermen have had very
few catches to report, with eight
being the largest catch report-
ed so far.
Winner at Mohawk
Scion Gratton, Bob McKinley's
fine horse, made a lot of bet-
tors happy Thursday night
when he raced home ahead of
the field at Mohawk. Raceway.
Bettors received 12,40, 5.80 or
2.10 for their two dollar invest-
ment. The time was just over
2:08 and with that fast a time
this early in the season the in-
vestors will be watching Scion
Gratton very close.
Artificial Ice
We stated last week that the
talk about artificial ice had died
down. Shortly after the paper
was out we were informed that
there was a committee working
hard at setting up a campaign.
They have been meeting reg-
ularly and hope to start the
canvass before too long. We
still say talk has died down,
but it has been replaced quite
adequately by something bet-
ter than talk—in the person of
some action.

liam Forrester.
Catcher Wanted
Don Cooper, a scout for the
Detroit Tiger chain, was in
town last week and informed
Jim Dalton at the Fox Milling
Company that he was in need
of a catcher for the Tiger chain.
Anyone who knows where there
is a good catcher is supposed to
give Don a shout.
