The resent electrical storm!
which passed over this sur-
rounding did much damage to
the electrical apparatus. There'
were plenty of lightning flash-
es but not too much thunder-
ing, as we all witnessed. No
one was aware that any damage
would be done. April electrical
storms generally bring settled
weather, sometimes for weeks,
regardless of what has already
happened during the passing
storms. Settled weather would
bring contentment to the
farmers.
Frederick Papineau, who has
spent almost a week in this
parish calling on relatives and
friends, left on Friday last for
his home in Detroit. He called

Lawns Respond to
Early Spring Care
Early spring is the time to
clean up the lawn. says horti-
culturists with the Ontario De-
partment of Agriculture, As
soons as the ground has dried
off so that there is no danger
of compaction, the lawn may be
lightly raked.
Rake off dead leaves, twigs,
stones and other debris. To
avoid pulling grass plants out
by the roots, use a light spring
rake rather than a heavy steel
rake. Do not rake out all the
dead grass since it will soon

JESUS CHRIST IS LORD!
And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled
himself, becoming obedient unto death, yea, death of the
cross.
Wherefore also God highly exalted him and endowed
him with the name above every name; that in the name
of Jesus every knee should bow, of things, in heaven and
on earth and under the earth, and that every tongue should
confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to God the Father's glory.

rot and add a little humus to
the soil.
A light rolling will firm the
soil around grass rots which
have been lifted by the freez-
ing and thawing action of win-
ter. Rolling will also help to
level the lawn and facilitate
mowing. Care should be taken
that soil conditions are suitable
when rolling. If the soil is too
wet, compaction and loss of
porosity will occur, and if it is
too dry the purposes of rolling
will not be accomplished. One
rolling in early spring should
be sufficient for the year.
Fertilizer may also be applied
before active growth begins to
avoid danger of burning, Use
special turf fertilizer and ap-
ply at rates recommended by
the manufacturer.
