Local Youth Has County . x:r ill Add interesting Time To Museum RCMP Force Goderieh-Adopting a prop - With A former Zurich boy, Allan Thiel, son of Mrs. AIice Thiel. is finding life in the Royal Ca- nadian Mounted Police quite interesting, as well as exciting. At present he is stationed at Prince George, British Colum- bia. Recently Constable Thiel ran into a terrifying experience when he helped to capture three ruthless gunmen in a bush near Prince George. According to an account of the episode in the Prince George Citizen, the three youths be- came trigger happy when the owner of a cottage came across them in his residence in the bush. During the search that followed their departure from the cottage, they stole several cars and fired numerous shots at the RCMP vehicles. The newspaper also shows a picture of Constable Thiel, along with several ,other Mdlllnties entering a bush on snowshoes in an attempt to apprehend the fugitives. In another recent episode with law -breakers, Constable Thiel had his glasses broken. Still he reports being quite happy with the life he is leading and enjoys every minute of his work in the wild west. 0 The newspaper is the end product of many crafts, pro- fessions and talents. Zurich Agricultural Society Zurich, Ontario i erty committee report, county council at its March session approved construction of a 60x 80 addition to Huron Pioneer Museum, at an estimated cost of $12,375. Two storeys in height. it will be on the south side of the present building. Expansion of the museum has been urged by the former cur- ator, J. H. Neill, and his suc- cessor, James Chisholm, for years. Committee chairman Elmer Hayter, of Stanley, speak- ing to the report, said the need had been evident for at least three years, to his personal knowledge. He expressed a hope that discretion would be used in selecting exhibits for the addition, so that it might last a long time. "For some time," the report stated, "your committee have heard of the problem at the museum in connection with bus loads of children arriving si- multaneously, creating a diffi- cult situation as far as admis- sions are concerned. Mr. Neill, the former curator, has offered to construct an office at the front of our present museum, SPEED A C u R A South Huron Publishers We can give quick service in supplying custom made rubber stamps...at budget prices.
