British Mortgage to Open New Exeter
Office With Special Festivities
A modern building will house
a branch of one of Canada's
oldest trust companies when
the new office of British Mort-
gage & Trust is officially opened
;in Exeter on Friday, April 2,
,at 2 o'clock. Chairman of the
hoard, W. H. Gregory, will cut
a golden ribbon during a brief
ceremony to which the public
is cordially invited.
A number of prominent busi-
ness and professional men will
take part in the proceedings,
Wilfrid P. Gregory, QC, presi-
dent and managing director of
the company, will act as master
,of ceremonies. Also invited to
take part are Hon. Charles Mac -
Naughton, minister of highways
and MLA for Huron; L. E. Car-
diff, MP; His Worship Mayor
Y.. Delbridge and the members

In line with company policy,
Canadian materials, workman-
ship and products are used ex-
tensively in the new building.
Desks and chairs, manufactured
in Ontario, are of sturdy oiled
teakwood or walnut. Green
and brown wool tweed, hand-
woven in Toronto, is used to
cover upholstered furniture,
Walls are covered with straw -
weave vinyl, Easy maintenance
is obtained with oiled wood-
work used throughout the of-
fice.
Open house will be held fol-
lowing the official opening on
Friday, April 2, until 9:30 p.m,
and again on Saturday, April 3,
from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. During
the open house, refreshment
will be served and a souvenir
will be given to each visitor.
Polaroid pictures will be taken
of visitors and presented to
them in an attractive folder.
A special attraction will be a
silver estimating contest which
will continue until Thursday,
April 15, at 4 p.m. An ornate
blue and silver chest, made in
the workshop of the Stratford
Shakespearean Festival, will be
heaped with silver coins—$L00,
50c, 25c, 10c and 5c. Visitors
may estimate the value of the
coins and the winner will re-
ceive as his prize—all the silver
he can scoop out in both hands
in one try.
British Mortgage & Trust,

Plan Convention
The regular meeting of Hen-
sall Kinette Club was held at
the home of Mrs. Robert Cald-
well Wednesday evening, and
was vice-president's night, with
vice-president Mrs. W i 11 i a nm
Fuss in the chair for the busi-
ness.
Mrs. Wayne Smith, a guest,
was presented with a gift in
appreciation of her assistance
during Goderich hospital visits.
Plans were finalized for the
attendance at the annual inter-
club meeting at Port Dover on
April 27. The Kinette club will
appear on "Ladies' Day". CFPL,
with the program to be taped
June 20.
Delegates for the convention
in Buffalo will be president
Mrs. John Baker and secretary
Mrs. Jim Hyde.
The raffle was won by Mrs.
Bob Caldwell. Next meeting
will be held at the home of Mrs.
Harold Caldwell on April 14.

District deputy grand masters
night for Huron Lodge A.F. &
A.M., 224, was held i n the
Lodge Hall, Hensall, Monday
night, when Alvin Earl Camp-
bell, of Iiensall, was initiated
into membership.
This was a rather unique oc-
casion, since his father, Roy
Campbell, is master, and his
grandfather, Earl Campbell, is
past master.
The family all took part in
the initiation, this being three
generations in the Lodge. The
occasion was also the offocial
visit of Rt. Wor, Bro. Gordon
Shortreecl, DDGI`f, of Clinton.

Joint Meeting of
Youth Groups
A total of 24 attended the
Hensall - Chiselhurst Young
People's meeting at the Hensall
United Church at 8 p.m, on
March 28. Eric Ross, Lois Sim-
mons, Robert McNaughton and
Dave Pyette took part in the
devotion.
Joyce Flynn favored the
young people with a beautiful
piano solo. The Scripture pas-
sage of the Prodigal Son was
acted out on a record, under the
direction of Doug Currie. A
discussion followed.
A beautiful color film called
"Trans -Canada Summer'' was
shown. It showed how every
province took part in building
the Trans -Canada Highway. It
was very educational as well as
interesting film.

School Auction
Grades seven and eight of
Hensall Public School held a
successful auction on Thursday
afternoon, of articles brought in
by the pupils which was high-
lighted by a bake sale, home-
made candy, refreshments, etc.
The bidding was brisk and
brought in a total of $38.50 for
the Bunny Bundle, CFPL, Lon-
don for crippled children.

Maurice Tiedeman
Maurice (Babe) Tiedeman, 64,
passed away at Metropolitan
Hospital, Windsor, on Sunday,
March 21, 1965. He is survived
by his wife, Pearl Tiedeman; a
daughter, Genvive, of Detroit;
one sister, Mrs. Viola Lombard,
Alhambra, Calif,; one brother,
Gordon, of Grand Bend; also a
number of nieces and nephews.
The body rested at the Wal-
ter Kelly funeral home, Wyan-
dotte St. E., Windsor, where the
funeral took place on Wednes-
day, March 24, with interment
at Windsor.
He was born at Dashwood and

The men's organization of the

evening of shuffleboard. The

day evening to hear St. Jacob's
EUB church choir present their

Cross". Their pastor, Rev. C.
