She answers letters of general interest in this column but can't undertake persona: replies. DEAR DORIS — My husband has worked about three weeks in the past three years. I sup- port the family in every way. When I work at home all day, and then go on shift at my job. I need a little sleep, but my hus- band doesn't seem to care whether I get any sleep or not. He's all the time making a ter- rible racket around the house. Please advise me what to do besides knock him out long enough for me to get a few hours' sleep now and then. VERY TIRED DEAR VERY TIRED — Your child -man resents so much his own failure and your steady control of things, that he bangs around for revenge. If he were accused of this, he'd deny it with an even lounder bang or two. You only treat symptom if you knock him out! Social work- ers and psychiatrists have been known to find the cause and help such people to "grow up". A training program, a job he could and would do, might fol- low: and then some blessed sleep for you! Waste no time in finding the right resource for help. Your regional welfare agency can steer you. sZ ey * DEAR DORIS—My boy friend is my brother's best boy friend and my mother says boys never get serious about their boy friend's sisters. Well, he's asked me out on dates, and I've gone, and he phones me up after he's talked to my brother. ISE SALE THE EVANGELICAL YOUTH FELLOWSHIP are holding a bake sale on Sat rday, Feb. 13 AT THE Town Hall, Zurich FROM 2:00 TO 5:00 P.M. I don't know if he likes me or is just being kind to me, be- cause when he comes over he always talks to me as well as my brother. Is it true, what my mother says? Or do you think he lakes met? PUZZLED DEAR PUZZLED — He likes you, Contrary to some opin- ions, brothers have been known to introduce sisters to the One and Only. Often. Nice source of supply. * DEAR DORIS-My fiance and I split up because we weren't sure. Now I am positive I love him. Tom is still not sure I'm the right person for him, although last summer he was so anxious to marry me, I've tried to help but each time I see him I only make him feel bad. He feels very guilty about hurting me and I think that this, in itself, shows how much he cares about me. Now he has gone wild; drinks, puts dents in his car, is run- ning around with a young mar- ried woman. But if he ever found he wanted to marry me, I'd take hint back right away. BABSY DEAR BABSY—You are the lucky one, to know your own mind. The only way to handle this is to make a clean break, telling Tom to come back only when he is completely sure of his love for you. A single rumor about you dat- ing someone else will probably bring him down to earth with a thump. And at your feet. Noth- ing else will do. DEAR DORIS — Will you please send me a copy of your bulletin describing dances and games suitable for teen-age par- ties. You mentioned having one with a broom dance. JUST MOM DEAR MOM — I'm sending two, "Helps for a Dance Party" and "Party Games and Refresh- ments" (ten cents each). The Broom Dance is not included, but it's very simple: As the dance begins one lone boy is handed a broom instead of a girl to dance with. Slim pickin's! So he pahns it off on a buddy who is dancing and takes his gal. Buddy does like- wise. And so on. When the number is over, the boy left holding the broom gets a booby prize. en Expert Watch Repairs Trophies and Engraving • DIAMONDS -WATCHES - CHINA Anstett Jewellers LTD.
