Corresiondentl In the passing days, weeks and finally the passing month of October, we find ourselves living in a world with people of many divisions. The greater ones are those who are going through life in a loving and humble way and who are ready to share with some of their goods and also with words of consolation to the more unfortunate ones. They are willing to offer their serv- ice to the poor when needed. They seem to foresee when they should act and when to distrib- ute to those in need to help them along when going through depressing days. For those who are generous, all of that glad- dens their hearts and at the same time they are rewarded a hundredfold. All of that fits !well with those loving and hum- ble people who also find con- tentment of heart when paying a visit or call to the sick or to those who are bed -ridden and helpless for years, They offer a word of encouragement and consolation and their visits to those unfortunate ones add greatly to pass away many lonely hours. To those humble and kind people, their good deeds will go deep down in his- tory and will -perhaps be influ- ential in creating a more gen- erous attitude of those who are minus of it in the afore lines we mentioned. Guests were received by the bride, Mrs. Ernest Talbot and Mrs. Art Alexander, mother of the groom. A lovely lace -cov- ered tea .table was centred with an arrangement of white car- nations and mums. Tea was poured by Mrs. Rus- sell Coleman, grandmother of the bride, Mrs. John McAsh, Mrs. Lloyd Makins and Mrs. Cecil Oke, .aunts of the bride, and Mrs. William Storey and Mrs. Sam Scott, aunts of the groom. The bride's trousseau and gifts were shown by Miss Mar- garet Alexander, Mrs. John Alexander, Miss Lorraine Talbot and Miss Marjorie Hyde. Assisting with the dainty luncheon were Miss Gwyn Jones, Miss Dawn Robinson, Miss Joyce Hood, Miss Lois Scott, Mrs. Glenn Deichert and Mrs, Dave Reynolds. Several showers have been held in Karen's honor. Miss Marjorie Hyde and Miss Gwyn Jones were co -hostesses at a miscellaneous shower, and a community shower in the base- ment of the United Church, Brueefield, prettily decorated with wedding bells. and pink and white streamers, was given With Mrs. lVIcBeath, Mrs. Rath - well, Mrs. Treibner and Mrs. Clifton as co -hostesses, greatly to those are humble of heart are those whose ambition it is to accumulate their gains be it in worldly goods or per- haps seeking honor at the ex- pense of others having regard for none. They like to live a life by theirselves and not asso- ciate with any one for fear at sometime or other they may in some way be forced to part with some of their precious dough and that perhaps against their will. For those people, let them seek their praise from their own. Television Views by William Whiting Although assaults on the CBC are nothing new, members of parliament spent three days at- tacking the "million -dollar play- thing", as one MP phrased it. One member said he didn't like "Festival" because it was produced by a bunch of "nut". And, he said, "there are a lot of nuts in the country". It's plain to see there are a lot of nuts in the House of Commons, and the next time there's a general election let's hope the so-called nuts of the country sweep the nuts in the House of . Commons out of of- fice. And whether it's a Con- servative, Liberal, NDP or So- cial Credit majority that fortes the next government of Can- ada, let's hope it will take the initiative and say "nuts to you Oizinimar tiMeAatir Dainty ,Rice, White Regular Grind Maxwell House Coffee - - Buy One Get One Free it Liquid Detergent _ Cream Style Corn — 15 -Oz.
