John Consitt, a young man
with a ready smile and a friend,
ly greeting, has been named
secretary -treasurer of the Hay
Township Mutual Fire Insur-
ance Company with offices in
Zurich. He will succeed Reg
Black, who will be leaving for
Buckingham, Quebec, about the
end of the year,.
The twenty -two-year old Mr.
Consitt was raised near Hills -
green and is the son of Mrs.
Russell Consitt and the late Mr.
Consitt. He attended high
school in Clinton and later
business college in Goderich.
Upon graduation, Mr. Consitt
took a book-keeping position
with Robert Bell Industries in
Seaforth where he has been em-
ployed for the past two and a
half years. He will not assume
full responsibility of his office
until he has completed his train-
ing under the direction of Mr.
Black.
Mr. Consitt and his wife,
Helen, now reside in Egmond-
ville but plan to move to Zurich
as soon as accommodations can
be found,

future is in store for curling

Hensall UCW Hear CGIT Gathering
Music of Tropics
Unit 3 of the UCW held their
thank -offering meeting on Mon-
day evening, presided over by
Mrs. Ron Mock who opened with
two thanksgiving poems and
conducted the devotional with
the theme, "The Harvest
Thanksgiving". She was as,ist-
ed by Mrs. William Clement and
Miss Mary Goodwin. .An article
"Facing Life's Hard Facts" was
read.
Mrs. Clendon Christie was in
charge of the Bible study, "Old
Testament Prophecy".
This unit will be in charge
of the church nursery and flow-
ers for November. The unit was
reminded of the Snowflake Ba-
zaar November 28. Members
enjoyed a delighting recording
of songs from Brazil and Trin-
idad.
Mrs. Gordon Munn conducted
a contest, and hostesses were
Mrs. Robert Cook and Mrs. Jean
Cornell.
The members of the Hensall
CGIT learned that Canadian
evangelists India's door remains
open and that teachers, doctors
and nurses are urgently re-
quired in that nation.
The girls inet at Carmel Pres-
byterian Church last Wednes-
day evening with Miss McFalls,
leader, discussing the topic,
"The Challenge of India".
The meeting opened with de-
votional exercises and closed
with a social hour.

officers of the district, who plan on doubling their efforts
this Hallowe'en to curb vandalism, etc, They will not hesi-
tate in laying charges for unlawful acts committed.

struction of property, or removal of articles for safety
sake, that they will be held responsible. 1 would like to
ask parents to instill in the minds of their children the
