NINE DECADES REACHED—A family
dinner in honor of Mrs. Mary Weigand, who
observed her 90th birthday Sunday, was held
at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Laird Jacobi,,
RR 1. Zurich. Mrs. Weigand, who resides
at Huronview, remains quite active and
keeps busy with the making of mats and
quilts. She has a keen memory and enjoys

will be speaking at the Blake
Mennonite Church from Thurs-
day, October 8, to Thanksgiving
Day, October 12.
Mr. Swazey has been a stu-
dent of the Psalms and his mes-
sages will be on God's 12 -fold
revelation of Himself as found
in the 23rd Psalm.
In addition to his duties as a
Toronto pastor, Mr. Swazey has
a laboratory for film strips and
slides for religious education.

South Huron Institute Rally Held
At Hensll United Church Tuesday
The Huron County Women's
Institute rally was held in lien-
sall United Church Tuesday, Oc-
tober 5, with 125 registering.
Lovely flowers in autumn tone
formed a floral background.
District president, Mrs. James
Drummond, of Kippen, presided
for the opening exercises, and
Mrs. Beverly Beaton, president
of IIensall WI welcomed guests.
Greetings were given from East
and West Huron. Reports were
submitted, among which was an
interesting historical rep or t
given by Mrs. W. D. Mack.
Miss Patricia Damude, home
economist for Huron, presented
a scholarship to Miss Mary An-
drew, RR 1, Lucknow, who is
now attending Western Univer-
sity.
Mrs. McLeod, of Exeter, fav-
ored with solos, accompanied
by Mrs. Andrew Dougall. A
skit, "Concert Party", was pre-
sented by Dashwood WI, and
Mrs. John McLean, Seaforth,
gave highlights of the national
convention held at Wolfville,

A very fine showing of handi-
crafts and fall fair exhibits
were on display at the noon
hour.
After a pooled lunch was
served, the devotional period
was conducted by Mrs. Harold
Currie, of IIensall.
"Live a Borrowed Life", with
Mrs. Janes McAllister as mod-
erator, was presented. Panel
members were: Mrs. I. Rader,
Dashwood; Mrs. William Kyle,
Kippen; Mrs. Delbert Geiger,
Zurich; Mrs. William Brock, Ex-
eter. Contestants: Mrs. L.
Hodge, Crediton; Mrs. Roy Mor-
enz, Grand Bend; Mrs. J. Woods,
Elimville; Miss Helen McKen-
zie, Seaforth. Reading, "Cook-
ing by the Recipe" and "Johnnie
Entertains", were given by
Mrs. Vern Alderdice. A musi-
cal number by the three Hen-
derson children of Seaforth was
much enjoyed.
