Mrs. Fanny Clark has re- turned after spending a few days with Mrs. Rosanna Setoeh- mer, Bayfield, who returned home with her for a few days holidays. Mr. and Mrs, Laird Mickle, Bob and Ann, and Charles Mickle, Hamilton, were guests Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Ross MacMillan and David, of Kit- chener. Mrs. C. L. Jinks is visiting this week with Mr. and Mrs, Victor Blatchford, at Rock Glen Falls, Arkona. Annual rally clay service will be held in the United Church Sunday, September 20, at 11:00 a.m. The regular Sunday church school session will be withdrawn and the scholars will worship together with the con- gregation in a united rally service. Purse Recovered While walking past the tele- phone booth at the Town Hall on Friday last, Billy Hoy, 12, Hensall, noticed a purse lying in the booth. Upon opening it he discov- ered the purse contained $60 in cash, a driver's license and personal papers belonging to Mrs. Percy Webster, Hensall. Billy immediately returned the purse to Mrs. Webster, who was very distraught over her loss but very happy to have it returned to her. McEwen. 0 Wedding Ingram -Reid Carmel Presbyterian Church, Hensall, lovely with a floral background of red and white gladioli, was the setting on Sat- urday, September 12, 1964, at 2 o'clock for the autumn wed- ding of Marlene Elizabeth Reid, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John N. Reid, Hensall, Ontario, and David A. Ingram, son of Mr. and Mrs. John F. Ingram, Hensall. Rev. D. 0. Fry, of Seaforth, performed the wedding cere- mony. Taditional wedding music was provided by the church organist Mrs. Malcolm Dougall. Given in marriage by her father, the bride was lovely in a floor -length gown of white organza, fashioned with a fitted torso bodice blended to a scoop neckline, accented with appli- ques of guipure lace and pearls, and styled with long lily -point sleeves. The full skirt was gathered up with self material roses throughout the skirt. An elbow -length French illusion veil was held in place with a rose tiara and she carried a bridal bouquet of red roses and white mums. Maid of honor, Miss Diane Reid, cousin of the bride, and Bridesmaid Mrs. Jean Turvey, Hensall, sister of the groom, were gowned identically in royal blue ballerina length bro- cade gowns, fitted at waist and blended to a round neckline, controlled skirts with exposed pleat centre front and accented by a self -material rose. White and pale yellow gla- dioli graced the tables. Mrs. Garnet Allan and Mrs. Roland Vanstone assisted in the serv- ing, For travelling the bride don- ned a blue double knit dress with matching accessories and a corsage of pink carnations, The couple will reside in Hensall. Prior to marriage the bride was honoreed at several func- tions. Mrs. Rodger Venner en- tertained at a miscellaneous shower; Miss Diane Reid, of Hensall, and her sister, Mrs. Bob Talbot, of Bayfield, were joint hostesses at a miscellan- eous shower; and Mrs. Rbland Vanstone was hostess for a kit- chen shower. Institute Rally At Hensall The first general meeting of the UCW for the fall season was held Monday evening, Sep. tember 14. President Mrs. Vial - ter Spencer presided for the opening and business. Mrs. Ron Mock, unit leader for group 3, conducted the program of the evening. The devotional exer- cises was taken by Mrs. 'earl Passmore, using as her theme "The Art of Happiness", Doug- las Mock favored with two solos, accompanied by Mrs. William Fuss. Rev. J. P. Gandon, rector of Trivitt Memorial Church, Exe- ter, and St. Paul's Anglican Church, Hensall, was guest speaker, speaking on "The Lord's Prayer", He stated that Christianity is being in love with God and that we should listen to God's still small voice in prayer. Rev. Gandon was thanked by Mrs. Jack Drysdale, who also expressed thanks to all those who assisted with the evening. Mrs. Harold Currie and Mrs. Stanley Mitchell, delegates, pre- sented highlights from the UCW conference held at Alma Col- lege this past summer.
