British Mortgage Pin New Exeter Building
flans for a new Exeter branch
office of British Mortgage &
Trust Company have been an-
nounced by W. H. Gregory,
chairman of the Board of Di-
rectors.
A modern one -storey build-
ing will be erected on the site
of the Central Hotel which was
purchased by British Mortgage
& Trust in June, 1963. At that
time, a temporary office was
opened in the north wing of
the old hotel, the last of nine
hotels once located within the
boundary of Exeter. Architects
of the new building are Roun-
thwaite & Associates of Toron-
to. General contractors are
Pounder Brothers of Stratford.
Demolition will begin imme-
diately. This will be an engi-
neering feat as 16 feet of the
northern portion of the three-
storey old hotel must remain
Zurich Kings Remain in Series With
1-0 Victory Over Walkerton Capitals
By virtue of their thrilling
1-0 win over the Walkerton
Caps on Monday night, the Zur-
ich Kings remain in the run-
ning in their best -of -seven
series. The Monday night game,
which has been postponed at
least three times due to rain,
was finally played in Dashwood,
where a sandy diamond made
playing conditions better.
Still trailing three games to
one in the series, the Zurich
crew will travel to Walkerton
for the fifth game of the series
on Sunday afternoon.
Bill Schade, the first batter
up for Zurich in the first inn-
ing, scored the lone run of the
game. He led off with a single,
stole second, and then scored
on Don O'Brien's single. The

rally might have kept on when
Bruce Moir singled after
O'Brien, and then O'Brien and
Moir pulled a double steal.
However, Doug O'Brien hit into
a triple play, and the inning
carne to a sudden ending.
The Kings threatened again
in the fourth, when Doug
O'Brien led off with a single,
stole second, and then went to
third on a wild pitch. However,
the next two batters both struck
out ending the rally.
Again in the fifth the Kings
threatened to score when Phil
Overholt worked a base on balls,
stole second and went to third
on a wild pitch. Once again
the next two batters both struck
out.
Only one Walkerton player
got as far as third base, in the
fifth inning, but he also failed
to score.
Manager Don O'Brien was on
the mound for the locals, giv-
ing up only four scattered hits
in the six -inning contest. He
struck out six and walked two.
Zurich managed to bang out
the same number of hits, with
Bill Schade, Don O'Brien, Doug
O'Brien and Bruce Moir all
finding the range. Joe O'Brecht,
on the mound for Walkerton,
struck out six and walked three.
Both teams had two errors.

the adjoining buildings are mu-
tually supporting. This 16 -foot
area will be available for rent
or sale.
No completion date has been
released for the new building,
but it is expected to be early
in the new year. The new build
ing will be approximately 45
feet along the main street and
75 feet in depth. A projecting
canopy of pre -cast concrete will
protect the entire front facade
of the building. There will be
two main entrances—one from
the main street and one lead-
ing directly from the parking
area at the rear.
A community room will be a
special feature of the building.
This room may be reserved for
meetings of local organizations
and groups, both during and
after office hours. There is no
charge for its use.
Every effort is being made to
make this building comfortable
