The famous Quebec wedding
ceremony of Elizabeth Taylor
and Richard Burton was head-
line story number one on CBC's
Front Page Challenge last Tues-
day. And, who eared? The
guest was the lawyer who ar-
ranged the farce. The entire
question period was spent talk-
ing about the ancient divorce
laws of the various provinces
Ithe flag that brought hundreds
of letters to his desk — some
telling him to -go to Russia".
Well, for everyone's informa-
tion, he isn't going. We spoke
with him over lunch one day
not so long ago and he informed
us of his intinerary for the
month of July. And, Russia
isn't on the list.
Coming up on July 8 is a pre -
Republican Convention special
titled "Great Conventions". It
will deal with these functions
and countries, and not about the from 1860 ... but the best
great romance of our time. convention of all to watch will
be the 1948 nomination of
Thomas E. Dewey when he was 1
considered unbeatable. T h e
Democrats' story will be told at
a later date.
It's rumored again that the
coming season will be the last
for Perry Mason.

Married in Luthern Church, Zurich
Lily R. Schultz, of RR 1, Zur-
ich, and Kenneth A. McMorine,
of Kingsbury, Quebec, were
united in marriage on Saturday,
June 20, 1964, in St. Peter's
Lutheran Church, Zurich.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. L. Schultz, RR 1,
Zurich, and the groom is the
son of Mr. and Mrs. A. Mc-
Morine, of Kingsbury, Quebec.
The double ring ceremony
was performed by Rev. A.
Blackwell. The soloist, Miss
Virginia Diechert, was accom-
panied by Mrs. Audrey Haberer,
organist.
The" bride, who was given in
marriage by her father, chose
a traditional floor -length gown
of Italian silk, fashioned with
empire bodice, high scoop neck-
line accented with guipure lace,
and elbow sleeves. The con-
trolled skirt had the same lace
trim and fell to a full chapel
train, Her elbow -length French
illusion veil was held by a
juelliette hat of roses and
leaves.

moted to the next grade. Much
credit is due the teacher, Miss
Melva Boyce( for her untiring
efforts during the past year.
Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Erb,
Mrs. Nancy Koehler, Rev. and
Mrs. Amacher, Mr. and Mrs.
Richard Erb, Karen and David,
and Mr, Wayne Horner were
Sunday dinner guests at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Russell
Grainger, following the christ-
ening of David Allan Erb, at
the church in Zurich in the af-
ternoon.
Mr. and Mrs, Robert McKin-
ley, London, called on Mr. and
Mrs, Richard Erb and family on
Sunday night.
On Tuesday the pupils and
teachers of SS 4, East and West
Stanley, accompanied by a num-
ber of the parents friom the
section enjoyed a bus trip to
Niagara Falls. They left the
highway school at 6:15 a.m. and
arrived home about 9 p.m. A
very enjoyable but tiring day
was reported by all.
Miss Helen Stewart, Clinton,
spent Friday night and Satur-
day with her sister and brother-
in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Walter
Turner, and family.
On Thursday evening the pu-
pils and teacher of SS 4 West
Stanley invited the section to
their annual school picnic held
on the school grounds. After a
wiener roast and various des-
serts were enjoyed by all, relay
races and games were played
and a baseball game rounded
out the evening.
Friday saw the close of an-
other school year for the pupils
of SS 4 West Stanley, with every
pupil being successful in pass -
Stanley Freer, of RR 1, Petrolia,
gowned in a dress of pink lace
over taffeta with a panel of
chiffon from the shoulder to
hemline at the back. She car-
ried a bouquet of white daisy
mums.
The groomsman was Mr. Ian
W. McMorine, of Richmond,
Quebec, and the guests were
ushered by Mr. George Han-
sen, of Burlington.
A reception followed at the
Dominion Hotel, Zurich, where
the bride's mother received
guests wearing a powder blue
silk dress.
The bride changed to a flax -
coloured silk linen dress with
brown and white accessories.
Mr. and Mrs. McMorine will
take up residence at 31 Wilson
St., Markham, Ontario. The
groom is employed at Toronto.
