Discuss Topic
The June meeting of Goshen
United Church Women met at
the home of Mrs. Russel Erratt,
on June 18, with Mrs. Bob Mc-
Kinley's group in charge. Mrs.
Bob McKinley opened the meet-
ing followed by hymn 388.
Scripture was read in unison
from James 2, verses 1-17, com-
ments by Mrs. Bob Mcl:Kinley.
Mrs. Arnold Keys gave a read-
ing on communists and crusts,
Prayer by Mrs. Bob McKinley.
Miss Dianne McKinley favoured
with a piano i:;strun ntal.
Mrs. i4Iel Elliott conducted
the business. Minutes were
react and adopted. Nineteeen
answered the roll call with
seven visitors. A motion was
made by Mrs. Elgin McKinley
and seconded by Mrs. Bob Mc-
Kinley that $12.50 be given to
Bible School. A motion was
passed that the group cater to
a wedding in July.
Another motion was made by
Mrs. Bob Peck, seconded by
Mrs, Bruce Keys that the have
a picnic in July.
Offering was received. Mrs.
Elgin McKinley gave a very in-
teresting report of the London
Hensall Kinettes
Wind Up Season
The closing meeting of the
Hensall Kinette Club was held
at the .home of the president,
Mrs. John Deitz.
It was announced that over
$800 was donated to service
work in the community in the
past year.
A social evening was enjoyed
with "crazy whist", and the
winners were Mrs, Homer
Campbell and Mrs. William
Clement.
A dainty luncheon was served
and winners of the lucky tea
cups were Mrs. Robt, Caldwell
and Mrs. William Mickle.
Meetings will again resume
in the fall.

ed on Miss A Consitt Monday
afternoon and evening, to sur-
prise her on the occasion of her
birthday, and to offer congrat-
ulations and present her with

Miss Tena MacNaughton, who
has been a patient in St. Jo-
seph's Hospital, London, return-
ed home Sunday.
Miss Pauline Bell left Mon-
day for St. Thomas where she
will attend summer figure skat-
ing school for the month of
July. Her professor is Donald
Cumming.
Mrs. Lloyd Lee and family, of
Picton, are vacationing for a
month with the former's par-
ents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Peters,
and Bonnie.
Conference for UCW, held in
Sault Ste. Marie in May. Hymn

Mrs. Bob McKinley.

COUNTY OF HURON
A By Law to authorize the
stopping up of 198 feet, more
or less, of Edward Street, in
Volland Survey, between John.
and Frederick Streets.
WHEREAS, pursuant to the
powers contained in the Muni-
cipal Act, R.S.O. 1960, Chapter
249, Section 459 and 462, the
Council of every municipality
may pass By -Laws for stopping
up all or any part of any high-
way within the limits of the
Corporation.
AND WHEREAS the Hay Town-
ship School Area Board pro-
poses to construct additions to
No. 7 School and this additional
space is required.
AND WHEREAS the Municipal
Council of the Corporation of
the Village of Zurich deem it
advisable to close the aforesaid
street.
NOW THEREFORE THE MUNI-
CIPAL COUNCIL OF THE COR-
PORATION OF THE VILLAGE
OF ZURICH ENACTS AS FOL-
LOWS:
1. That the said Edward Street,
Volland Survey, approximate-
ly 198, more or less, between
John and Frederick Streets
be stopped up and closed.
2. That the notice of the pro-
posed By -Law shall be pub-
lished once a week for four
successive weeks in the Zur-
ich Citizen's News, a news-
paper published in the ViI-
lage of Zurich, and the first
of such publications to be
made on the 11th day of
June, 1964.
3. And further take notice that
the Council of the said Cor-
poration of the Village of
Zurich will hear in person,
or by Counsel, Solicitor, or
Agent, any person who claims
that his land will be prejudi-
cally affected by the said By -
Law, and who applies to be
heard at a meeting to be held
at the Zurich Municipal Of-
fices, Zurich, Ontario, on
Monday,July J y 6th, 1964, at
the hour of 8:00 in the eve-
ning.

bus, held their annual election
meeting on Thursday. Follow-

of -gold had to go at this last
meeting and was won by Alvin
Rau, RR 2, Z uric h; Maurice
Etue, RR 4, Seaforth, won the
100 club draw.
Highlighting the evening was
a presentation by Gerald Hol-
land, Dublin, of a framed
souvenir of Rev. Father Stephen
Eckert's first mass, July 5, 1896,
after whom the Seaforth and
district council has been named.
Mr. Holland is a nephew of
Father Eckert.
