They will re- turn by plane. Mrs. Milton Russell had the misfortune to get her hand in the wringer of her electric washing machine causing pain- ful injuries, requiring several stitches. Unit 2 Unit 2 of UCW met Monday evening with leader Mrs. Edison Forrest presiding, opening their June meeting with a poem, "Little Things" and prayer. Mrs. Dave Blackwell had charge of the devotional, assisted by Mrs. Stewart Blackwell. Mrs. How- ard Scane gave a good Bible study of the first five chapters of the Bible. Mrs. Dave Kyle read several poes and articles. Plans were discussed for the smorgasbord o n Wednesday, June 24. This group will have charge of the nursery and flow- ers for July. Meetings will re- sume in September. Mrs. Lorne Hay directed contests and re- freshments were served by hostesses Mrs. Hugh McEwen and Mrs, Stewart Blackwell. The late Mrs, Scott was the former Blanche Petty, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. G. C. Petty of Hensall. Surviving are one daughter, (Marion) Mrs. Harold White, of Guelph; two sisters, (Gladys) Mrs. G. F. Snaith, St. Marys; and Maude, in Winni- peg. Mrs, Scott passed away in Guelph on Sunday, May 31, fol- lowing a month's illness. George Pfaff Funeral service for the late George N. Pfaff, '73, of London, who died at St. Joseph's Hos- pital, London, Thursday, June 4, was held Saturday from the George E. Logan and Sons funeral home London, with burial in Woodland Cemetery. Survivors are one daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Audrey) Herbert, London; one son, Lloyd George, London; one sister, Miss Emma E. Pfaff, St. Thomas, and one brother, John Pfaff, Hensall. His wife predeceased him, Entertain Brussels Amber Rebekah Lodge, at their regular meeting Wednes- day, entertained Brussels Lodge. At the conclusion of the lodge meeting, presided over by Noble Grand Mrs. Clarence Volland, a social hour was enjoyed with a sing -song, with Mrs. William Fuss •accompanist; readings by Mrs. Alex McBeath, bingo and contests. Mrs. E. Chipchase was social convenor, Mrs. Gus Voth and grand- daughter Tracey McArthur, of Royal Oak, Mich,, visited over the week -end with the former's 'mother, Mrs. L. Simpson. Mrs. Blighton Ferg is recover- ing at her home from injuries she received in a car accident recently. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Lamont, Zurich, spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Stewart McQueen. Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Cox, Toronto, and Mrs. Harry Stew- art, Seaforth, visited last Satur- day evening with Mr. and Mrs. Laird Mickle and family. Charles Mickle, of Hamilton, spent the week -end with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Laird Mickle, Bob and Ann. Sgt. Donald A. Orr, RCAF, St. Hubert, Quebec, and Mrs. Orr, the former Margret Mader, of West Germany, are spending a few holidays at the home of Donald's parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Orr, in Hensall, prior to leaving Canada for Metz, France on June 18, where Sgt. Orr will be stationed for four years. Sgt. Orr has been in the Air Force 111/2 years and has been stationed at several places in Canada and also had two years at Trier and Ramstein, Ger- many. Mrs. Orr came to Can- ada five years ago next month and Sgt. and Mrs. Orr were married in Carmel Presbyterian Church, Hensall. 0 House Numbering Kinsmen Project Project of numbering over 300 homes in the village of Hen- sall was started Thursday night, when 20 members of the Hen- sall Kinsmen Club started the numbering. Guest speaker, S/L Rev. John Bon- ham, B.A., B.D., Protestant chaplain at Centralia RCAF, was introduced by Rev. Harold from the residents, will be com- pleted Monday night. Numbers are gold in color. Any person not having a num- ber is asked to contact John Baker, president of the Kins- men Club. In charge of the project is Bob Caldwell, service committee chairman. F. Currie, minister of the church. He chose for his ser- mon topic, "The Holy Spirit", Sam Rennie was soloist, sing- ing for his selection "Consider the Lilies", and the choir far their contribution rendered "King All Glorious". At the evening service Rev. Bonham presented an illustrat- ed address on the "Churches and Gardens of Europe", en- hanced with coloured slides, which was very interesting and informative, and appreciated by the congregation. Circus Coming For the first time in the his- tory of the village of Hensall, the circus will come to town Thursday, June 11, with two big shows at S and 8 p.m. at the Hensall Community Park. Twenty-five trained animal and circus acts, including ele- phants, will be sponsored by Hensall Kinsmen, with proceeds for community projects, bur- sary, and welfare work.
