JOSEPH and DRYSDALE CAS.. FRED DUCHARME, Correspondent). Yours truly and Mrs. Du- charme have returned to their home on Thursday last after spending two weeks visiting with their children in Detroit, Windsor and also other points visiting with friends and rela- tives. The Ducharmes had a very pleasant visit but as can be expected were glad to return to their home on this highway. The past weekend was Decor. ation Day in the U.S., and many took advantage of it, and many of them who had relatives in this parish passed their stay with them, while others who have their cottages along the lake or other places occupied them. Mr. and Mrs. Gerard Den- omme, of Goderich, paid an evening call to the former's mother, Mrs. Adeline Denomme, of this neighborhood. Children of St. Mary's School in this parish, accompanied by the Sisters, formed a bus load and motored to Chatham on Saturday last to attend a garden party given on the grounds of the Ursuline Convent. It was an enjoyable outing for all of them. Mr. and Mrs. Cyrille Masse and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Fou- ville and grandchildren spent the week -end in the farm home of the Masse's on the Bluewater south. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Mernovidge and Vincent Jeffrey, of Detroit, spent the week -end in St. Jo- seph with Mrs. Sarah Jeffrey and family. The past weekend Mrs. Dolph Sopha, in company with her son Philip, motored to Chatham to pay a visit to Sister Frances Therese, who is a grand -daugh- ter of Mrs. Sopha. On Sunday evening last, on the even of Mrs. Josephine Du- charme's birthday, June 1, most of her children gathered at her home to extend good wishes to their mother and brought gifts to mark the occasion. Especial- ly for the children, such occa- sions do not pass by without leaving in their hearts great joy and happiness, to witness a long and useful life granted thein, therefore children should be grateful. May this grand old lady in our midst be spared many more years, is our sincere wish. On Monday last visitors from Zurich at the home of Mr., and Mrs. F. Ducharme were Mrs. Theresa Hartman and Mrs. A. Sararas. Mr. and Mrs. Nap Denomme, of Windsor, were visitors with the former's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Remie Denomme Mr. and Mrs. Harry Deitrich and family were last Monday evening visitors -to Mr. and Mrs. Dolph Sopha. Recently Mrs. Leonard Debus, Mrs, Tony Hoffman, Mrs, Wil- liam Denomme and Mrs. Morris Durand were visitors at the Sopha home. Visit of Brother Andre This being the third article concerning the visits of Brother Andre in this parish, I feel a little embarrassed in continu- ing, I did not think when I start- ed that it would take so much valuable space in this news- paper. I perhaps should have asked permission from the start and which I apologize today for continuing. Alfred was not at ease living on the farm with his aunt and uncle and mother, he longed for further adventure, He then decided to quit the farm and to learn the blacksmith trade.
