Ball Season Will
Open Soon With
More Entries
The Huron Perth Intermedi-
ate loop, one of the oldest
leagues affiliated with the On-
tario Baseball Association, may
have six or seven teams in com-
petition this season.
At a meeting in Hensall last
night the schedule for the sea-
son was to be drawn up.
The officers were elected at
an organization meeting in Hen-
sall last Wednesday, with Bob
Sadler, of Staffa, being re-elect-
ed as president; Gerald Bell,
Hensall, vice-president, a n d
John Livermore, Clinton, re-
elected secretary -treasurer, a
position he has held for over
30 years.
Sadler said Staffa, Exeter and
Zurich teams have definitely de-
cided to enter. Teams from
Walkerton and Clinton are pos-
sibilities and there may be two
others.
The intermediate league has
been operating for years, once
drawing top crowds.
Last year the Staffa team
won the intermediate "B" pro-
vincial title, and the Zurich
team lost out in the final round
for the OBA Intermediate C
title,

We had a look at the 64-65
fall schedule for the five net-
works and was left with one
conclusion ... it's all very tenta-
tive. .ABC will schedule "Sun-
day Night at the Movies" from
9 to 11 p.m. "Wagon Train"
will go at 7:30, followed by
"Broadside" at 8:30. CBS. and
CBC are sticking with "Ed Sul-
livan" at 8:30, "Bonanza" stays
at 9:00 with CBC and NBC.
CTV has "Mr. Novak" at 7:30
with "Mr. Solo" following;
"Dick Van Dyke" at 9:30 and
"Hourglass" at 10.
NBC will show "Disney Pre-
sents" at 7:30, followed by
"Grindl" at 8:30. "The Rogues"
is scheduled for 10 p.m.

Monday's schedule.

Honour Teacher
On Retirement
More than 200 former pupils
of Gordon A. Manson gathered
at Dundas District High School
on Tuesday evening to express
appreciation of his services over
a lengthy period of years. Mr.
Manson is retiring in June after
teaching 36 years in the Town
of Dundas.
Mr. Manson has been on the
teaching staff of the high school

Mrs. John McLean, Provincial
Board member, brought greet-

Mrs. Walter Weaver sang a
duet, accompanied by Mrs.
Henry Fahner. Mrs, Lorne
Daniels, Mount Elgin, president
of London Area Convention,
brought greetings from the
area.
New business consisted of an
invitation by Hensall for the
Rally. A book committee com-
posed of Mrs. McLean, Mrs.
Drummond, Mrs. Strang, Mrs.
Hicks and Mrs. Mack offered to
represent the district Arda
meeting in Clinton.
J. G. Burrows, of Exeter,
public school inspector, spoke
on the necessity for providing
schooling for the slow learners.
Mrs. William Bell, of Kippen,
gave courtesy remarks.

popular teacher of History and
English at the school. For more
than 15 years he served as vice-
principal.
Tuesday evening's reception
was arranged by the student
council' under the direction of
the president, Paul McLaugh-
lin, who presided. A presenta-
tion of luggage was made to
Mr. and Mrs. Manson, who re-
plied expressing thanks.
Mr. Manson conte to Dundas
District High after teaching at
Central Public School for 14
years. Prior to leaving the staff
of the public school he had
taught grade 8. He is a native
of the Zurich district.

announces that Gerry Godbolt,
C.L,U., of Exeter, will service
the Zurich and district policy,
holders of the late Alex J.
Masse.
Mr. Godbolt is a qualified un-
derwriter of personal and busi-
ness life insurance, is a Chart-
ered Life Underwriter, past
president of the Perth -Huron
Life Underwriters' Association,
and an active member of the
Exeter Lions Club.
He is well-known in this com-
munity, having been raised and
educated in Centralia. Previ
ous to entering the life insur-
ance business, Mr. Godbolt was
a successful dairy farmer. He
is married to the former Aima
Ratz, of RR 2, Dashwood, and
has two sons, George and John,
attending school.

which refreshments were served
by the home economics group
of which Mrs. Kenneth A. Grant
is teacher. Miss Margaret Betz-
ner, secretary of the student
council. was in charge of the
arrangements. Miss G: Day is
the faculty adviser to the coun-
cil.
Among those present at the
reception was a daughter, Mrs.
Theodore Olsen, Toronto, and
a son, Jack Manson, of Murray
Hill, N.J.
