Miss Ruth Anne Traquair and
Miss Ruth Anne Hume, St.
Thomas, spent the Easter week-
end with the former's grand-
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Traquair.
Easter visitors with Mrs.
Pearl Passmore were Mr. and
Mrs. Ron Passmore, London,
and Miss Norma Passmore,
Burlington.
Ted Mock, Robert McNaugh-
ton, David Pyette and David
Taylor, students at South Huron
District High School, enjoyed
an Easter vacation in New York
City, sponsored by the school.
Patrick Soldan, Zurich; Rob-
ert Hoffman, Dashwood; Robert
Coullier, Douglas Russell, and
Larry Ratz, of Centralia, grade
12 and 13 students at South
Huron High School, are room-
mates on an Easter vacation in
New York City; sponsored by
the school and conducted by
teachers Joseph Wooden and
Ron Bogart. The group of 48
students and six escorts left
St. Thomas by train Thursday
night.
Mr. and Mrs. Doug Johnston
and family spent Easter with
their parents at Barrie and Col-
lingwood.
Easter guests with Mrs. Emma
Farquhar were Miss Dorothy
Farquhar, Ron Farquhar, and
Mr, and Mrs. Ed Knox and fam-
ily, Toronto.
Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Simpson,
of Birmingham, Mich., were
Easter guests with Mrs. Lou

AWARDED JUNIOR BRONZE MEDAL — Miss Pauline
Bell,'daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stewart Bell, RR 2, Hensall,
was awarded a junior bronze medal for figure skating at St.
Thomas. She was successful in passing her dance tests and
receives a CFSA pin from Ottawa. Shown here is Pauline
being presented with her medal from Donald Cummings,
professional instructor of the club at St. Thomas. Miss
Bell was guest skater this winter at carnivals in Goderich,
Hensall and Zurich, and took a main part in the St. Thamas
carnival.

Annual Meeting.
The annual meeting of Hen-
sall Womens Institute will be
held in the Legion Hall, Wed-
nesday, April 8, 8:15 p.m. Roll
call will be answered with the
payment of fees. Reports of
standing committees will be
presented and the new slate
of officers will be brought in.
Mr. and Mrs. Orval Rapson
had as their guests on Easter
Sunday Mr. and Mrs, Murray
Milton, of Agincourt; Mr. and
Mrs, Clare McBride, Gwen and
Bob, Zurich; Mr. and Mrs. Gor-
don Rapson, Billie and Cindy,
Wingham; Mr. and Mrs. Donald
James, Julie and Michael, Lon-

HENSALL KINETTES
Mrs, Doug Johnston was host-
ess for the Hensall Kinette
meeting, Wednesday nigh t,
chaired by president Mrs, John
Deitz.
It was decided to hold the
annual spring rummage sale on
Saturday, May 23,
Kinettes were reminded of
the Inter -Club to be held in
Aylmer, Monday, April 13.
Mrs. William Fuss won the
raffle.

HELP CRIPPLED CHILDREN
On Thursday afternoon, March
26, grades 5 and 6 of Hensall
Public School (Mrs. Mary
Haugh) teacher, held a white
elephant sale and made $25.85
for the Bunny Bundle for crip-
pled children, CFPL radio.
Articles sold were comics,
popcorn, apples, home made
candy, eggs with pictures of the
Beattles painted on them, fish
pond, etc, All the other grades
of the school, with their prin-
cipal and teachers, attended the
sale.
Winners in the draw were
Bev Clark, Marjorie Schwalm,
Bonnie Sangster. Janie Smith,
treasurer, and Debbie Ander-
son, secretary, were interviewed
Friday morning on Bunny Bun-
dle CFPL radio by John Dickens
when they presented the money.
Guests of Mr. and Mrs. N. E.
Cook were Mr. and Mrs. Gary
H. Corlett, Bryan, Diane and
Geoffrey, of Toronto; Dr, and
Mrs, M. A. Hopkinson, Joan,
Bruce and Mary Beth, of Lion's
Head. Dr, Hopkinson was a
brother of the late Keith Hop-
kinson, of Goderieh, who was
killed in a plane crash Thurs-
day of last week,
Attending the funeral of the
late Keith Hopkinson, of Gode-
rich, were Mr. and Mrs. G. H.
Corlett, of Toronto; Mr. and
Mrs. N. E. Cook, Mr. and Mrs.
Robert H. Cook, and Mr. and
Mrs, Douglas A. Cook, all of
Hensall.
Mrs. Don Cooper, on the staff
of the local Bell Telephone and
who recently resigned, was pre-
sented with an heirloom bed-
spread by the staff in a presen-
tation held at the office. Miss
Bonnie Kyle read the address,
and Mrs. Haroold Caldwell pre-
sented the gift.
Mrs. Harvey Hyde, Mrs. Mal-
colm Dougall, Mrs. Earl Camp -
hell, Mrs. Gordon Troyer, Mrs.
Gordon Schwalm, representing
the Women's Missionary Society
and Arnold Circle of Carmel
Presbyterian Church, attendeed
the Easter thank -offering meet-
ing of the WMS of Knox Pres-
byterian Church, Belgrave, on
Monday of this week. Guest
speaker, Mrs. Congram, of
Wingham, gave an inspiring
Easter message. Mrs. Hyde gave
two poems on Easter, and Mrs.
Schwalm spoke on the books of
the Bible presenting a brief
outline of the books in the Old
and New Testaments.
Mr. and Mrs, Laird Mickle, ,
Charles, Ann, and Mrs, Flor-
ence Joynt, were guests on Sun-
day with the former's daughter
and son-in-law Mr. and Mrs.
Ross MacMillan, and David of
Kitchener. Ann is staying for
a few days during the holidays.
Miss Joan Goddard spent part
of the Easter holidays with her
sister and brother-in-law, Mr.
and Mrs. Dennis Mock. of Lon-
don,

Mrs. Alberta McBeath, who
has been a patient in Scott
Memorial Hospital, Seaforth, is
recuperating at the home of
her son and daughter-in-law,
Mr. and Mrs. Alex McBeath, of
Kippen,
Charles Mickle, of Hamilton,
spent the weekend with his par-
ents, Mr. and Mrs. Laird Mickle,
and Ann.
A joint confirmation service
of Chiselhursh and Hensall Uni-
ted Churches was held Thurs-
day evening in the Unified
Church, Hensall, when 19 young i
people from both churches were
admitted into full membership
into the church.
Celebrates Birthday
Mrs. Jane Haugh, patient at
the Queensway Nursing Home,
Hensall, for the past three years,
and a native of Brucefield area
all her fife, on Tuesday quietly
celebrated her 92nd birthday.
The second oldest resident at
the nursing home, Mrs. Haugh
enjoys fairly good health, and
has a family of one son and
two daughters: Dr. Carmen
Haugh, Toronto; Mrs. J. Ussher,
Falls Church, Virginia; and
Mrs. John McIntosh, Toronto.
