Gary Hoy, 4, son of LAC Clar- ence and Mrs. Hoy, of Exeter, formerly of Hensall, has re- turned from South Huron Dis- trict Hospital, Exeter, where he was a patient, following an op- eration for removal of his ton- sils and other surgery. Mr. and 1VIrs, Brian Bonthron and Chris, of London, were weekend guests with Mr. and Obituary William Henry William Henry, of Hensall, a highly respected ,citizen by all who knew him, passed away in Clinton Hospital Thursday, March 19, in his 87th year. He was born in Hibbert Town- ship, County of Perth, and was a pioneer of the Red Deer, Al- berta, district, and also farmed at Keeler, Sask. and Kindersley, Sask. Mr. Henry lived for sev- eral years on an Ontario farm, later retiring to Hensall. He was a member of Hensall United Church. Mr. Henry leaves to mourn his loss, his wife, the former Harriet Cameron,; one son, Cameron, London; one daugh- ter, Mrs. D. C. Herne (Margaret) St. Catharines, and three grand- sons, Cameron, Richard and David. Public funeral serives was held Saturday with Rev. Harold Currie officiating. Interment was in Baird's Cemetery. Bearers were Hugh Love, • John Jarrott, Robert Cameron, Ira Geiger, Alex Mustard, Jack Henderson. Mrs. Harold Bonthron and fam- ily. Allan Reid, Scott Smith and Bev Cornell, while •out strolling on the CNR' tracks one mile south of Hensall Saturday after- noon found an American weath- er balloon. The metal box, a foot and a half square, had an orange parachute attached. The youngsters left it at the local post office, and P.M. Cecil Kipfer will return it to the proper officials in the American government. Youngsters from Seaforth, Goderich, RCAF Stations Cen- tralia a n d Clinton, Exeter, Blyth, Bayfield and Varna won valuable prizes on ToastMaster Junior Auction on CFPL-TV Sat- urday afternoon. Lloyd Wright was auctioneer, assisted by Al Mitchell. Appearing on the program from Hensall were Bonnie and Linda Sangster, children of Mr. and Mrs. John Sangster, and Bob and June Maxwell. Mr. and Mrs. Ross Jinks, Gail and -Billy, left Saturday for Lon- don, where they will take up residence. Good Cheer Sunday, March 22 (Palm Sun- day) members of Hensall Kin- ette Club brought happiness and cheer into the lives of 46 shut- ins in •the village, patients at Queensway Nursing Home, Hen- salI; hospitals at Exeter, Clinton and Huronview, presenting them with lovely Easter plants. Forty-six plants were delivered. This is an annual project of the club. Winners for euchre were: Ladies' first, Mrs, Ross Richardson; men's first, Percy Campbell; ladies' low, Mrs. Jack Consitt; men's low, Clarence Volland; lone hands, Percy Campbell. Chief of Police E, R. Davis was guest speaker at the St. Patrick's meeting of the First Hensall Brownie Pack, held in the United Church Tuesday af- ternoon, speaking on "Safety". Attending the Tipping -Smith wedding in London on Saturday were Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Garnet Allan, Mr. and Mrs. Roland Vanstone and Miss Marlene Reid, all of Hen- sall. Mr. M. VanDyke, of Grand Bend, returned Saturday after a three month's visit to Holland. Mr. VanDyke is an uncle of Mrs. Sim Roobol. Members of Hensall Ladies' Auxiliary attended the card party at Seaforth Legion Hall on Wednesday, sponsored by Seaforth L.L.A. Attending were Mrs. Roy Smale; Mrs. Mary Tay- lor, Mrs. Harry Horton, Mrs. William Smale, Mrs. W. J. Cam- eron, Mrs. Gordon Munn, Mrs, Harold Campbell. At St. Paul's Anglican Church, Hensall, Rector J. P. Gondol' dedicated a pair of brass candle sticks for the altar, gift of Mr. and Mrs. W. 0. Goodwin, and dedicated in loving memory of Mrs. Annie Maulkinson, another of Mrs, Goodwin. Amber Rebekah Lodge islet in the Lodge Rooms Wednesday evening, with Noble Grand Mrs. .Clarence Volland presiding. A donation was sent to the Eye Bank. Gingerich and daughter Dario, Mr. and Mrs. Josiah Steckle, and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Ginger- ich, the occasion being Mary Ellen's birthday, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Ginger- ich and daughters spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs, Donald Schwindt and family at Baden. Mrs. Albert Erb accompanied them to Baden to visit with her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Gingerich and family, Mr. and Mrs. Amos Gingerich were Sunday guests with Mr. and Mrs. William Steckle and family.
