Wedding of Interest
Wein-Parker
In a colorful double ring cere-
mony with the bride in her
floor -length white gown of peau
de sole and the groom in his
scarlet RCMP uniform, Geral-
dine Parker became the bride
of Douglas James Wein in Hen-
salI United Church Saturday,
December 21, at 3 o'clock.
The bride is the slaughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Parker,
RR 1, Hensall, and the groom is
the only son of Mr, and Mrs.
Lawrence Wein, Exeter.
In a Christmas setting of
white bells with gold trimming,
pine and white candles Rev.
Harold Currie performed the
rites. Organist Eric Horton,
London, furnished the wedding
music and accompanied the
soloist, Sandi Morrow, London,
who sang "The Lord's Prayer".
Given in marriage by her
father the bride's full -flowing
bouffant skirt cascaded at the
back to a romantic chapel train
from triple pleats at either side
of the waist. The bodice was
highlighted by long lily -point
sleeves and a flattering V neck-
line. To complete her outfit the
bride wore a pure silk illusion
veil with hand rolled hem's and
caught up by a queen's crown
headpiece of tiny seed pearls
and crystals. She carried but-
terfly orchids.
Maid of honor was her sister,
Miss Dorothy Parker, London,
and bridesmaids were Miss Eliz-
abeth Geddes, London, Mrs.
George Parker and Mrs. Ken
Parker, both of Hensall. They
were gowned alike in ;cocktail -
length dresses of French blue
charm. Accenting the bodices
were shallow bateau necklines
and elbow -length sleeves, Tri -
petalled headpieces added a
final touch with matching cock-
tail veils. Junior bridesmaid,
Patsy Parker, a sister of the
bride, and the little flower girls,
Cindy and Kathy Parker, nieces
of the bride, were dressed simi-
larly to the other attendants.
All the flowers were bouquets
with a Iarge inum in the centre
with small mums around, in
pine and gold. Bradley Baker,
Hensall, was ringbearer.
Best man was Merlin McLean,
Exeter, and George and Ken
Parker, brothers of the bride,
and Don Hendrick, Owen Sound,
ushered. Ricky Parker, nephew
of the bride, was junior usher.
A reception was held in the
church rooms. The bride's
mother received guests in beige
brocade with matching acces-
sories and the groom's mother
wore aqua brocade.
For travelling in the United
States the bride changed to a
cranberry wool dress, winter
white coat with fox collar with.
black accessories.
The couple will reside in
Nova Scotia.
