County Museum
den said, "always took an inter-
est in the museum and in his-
torical events. We appreciate
Needs More Roof the gifts he made from time to
time. Upon his death we re-
ceived a cash donation to fur-
ther the work of the museum.
We consider it advisable at this
time to remodel the front en-
trance, and with county funds
it enabled us to close -in the of-
fice area and make it more com-
fortable for the personnel to
work in."
Earlier, in addressing coun-
cil, Mr. Neill had said an addi-
tion to the building was needed.
"We are refusing valuable
articles," he said. "We need a
building 60 by 80, at the back
of what we have. We have had
a good year, with nearly 22,000
registered, and a large school
bus from Niagara is booked for
Saturday. I turned in $5,135.
What the museum has cost from
Goderich-County council 00
Tuesday honored the memory
of Gavin Green, who gave many
articles to the county museum
and left a cash bequest. He
died in October, 1961, just six
months short of the century
mark. A bronze tablet erected
by council just inside the mus-
eum entrance was unveviled by
Mrs. P. J. Green, a niece.
Reeve Ivan Haskins, IIowick,
chairman of the property corn-
m'ttee, was in charge Of the
ceremony. Others participating
were Warden Walter Forbes,
Reeve Frank Walkom of Code -
rich„ and H. J. Neill, museum
curator.

PRECAUTION AGAINST RABIES
Since rabies is still a definite threat to persons and
animals in this locality, it is requested most urgently that
the public take all the necessary precautions to safeguard
the health of humans and animals to the fullest by follow-
ing the precautions listed below.
1. Have all dogs and cats immunized and keep them from
roaming about.
2. Educate children against playing with strange dogs or
cats, or other animals.
3. Report cases of scratches or bites from any animal to
your doctor and Huron County Health Unit.
4. Report any cases of unusual behaviour or sickness of
any animal, or even death of wild animals, to the
nearest Canada Department off Agriculture office, or
game warden.
5. Since a rabid fox was shot recently in the western part
of Hay Township, it is urged that residents in that area
be especially alerted.
