Children's Aid Society Seeks Clothing and Toys in New Campaign The Board of Directors of donations of food, new wearing Huron County Children's Aid Society has formed a Christmas Bureau whereby they hope to help provide a good Christmas for all needy families, with par- ticular emphasis on the chil- dren, To prevent overlapping some basic rules to follow are sug- gested. All groups or indivi- duals wishing to help should work closely with the board member in their locality on this committee, It is important that all con- tributions except perishable goods, be delivered to Goderieh, headquarters of the Children's Aid, or to your local board member, well before the end of November. Money is .most acceptable for buying gifts for older children. These are usually more expen- sive and not many are donated. Other suggested gifts are: apparel, socks, mitts, layettes, stationery, billfolds, flashlights, toilet articles, jewellery, Christ- mas seals, ribbons, tags. Christ- mas paper for wrapping the gifts are also needed. Only new things can be used as Christmas gifts but clean used clothing and bedding in good condition are also very acceptable for our boxes. A very happy matrimonial event was held in St. Peter's Church, St. Joseph, on Saturday, when Father Martin united in marriage Leona Badore and Franklin Corriveau, Mr. F. C. Kalbfleisch is build- ing an addition to his thriving planing mill in Zurich, and when completed it will give him more room. for workmen, Delbert Geiger was elected president of the newly organ- ized Young People's League of the Evangelical C h u r ch in Zurich. 25 YEARS AGO NOVEMBER, 1948 - The Zurich Lions Club gave a half-hour program on CKNX radio station on Friday evening, sponsored by the Department of Education in Ontario, Alexander Neeb, of Dash- wood, prominent Huron County farmer and one-time warden of the county, passed away in St. Joseph's Hospital on Saturday. Donald M. Charlton, of Ilder- ton, has accepted a position as manager •of the Zurich branch of the Hensall District Co -Oper- ative, and along with his wife have taken up housekeeping in Zurich. NpvEMBER, 1953 Twenty-six hunters of the Hensall. area were successful in bagging 17 deer and five red foxes in a deer hunt in Hay Township last week.
