CITIZENS NEWS THURSDAY, DECEMBER 2L 1961 New Sub -division At Lake Front Is Liven Approval by Harry Township Another new sub -division is being started in Hay Township, with the opening by Victor Brisson and Leon Bedard of the lake frontage behind Mr. Bedard's farm, on the Bluewa- ter highway. Approval for the registering of the new sub -di- vision was granted at the last regular meeting of the council of Hay Township, last Friday afternoon. Payment to Stanley Town- ship of $1,325 was approved as the Hay Township portion of the Drysdale. Municipal Drain. The clerk was also authorized to pay Usborne Township the assessment towards the Tuckey Municipal Drain. A grant of $20 towards the Dashwood Public Library was approved by council. A grant of $S00 was made to the Arena Board, for operating costs in 1961. The clerk was in- structed to bill the village of Zurich for one-third of the amount. Clerk Brokenshire was in- structed to ask engineer C. P. Corbett for further information in regards to his suggestion that a branch of the Thiel drain be run west to the Laidlaw pro- perty. The council would like to know how many feet of drain is needed, and the size of the tile required. Council passed by-law No. 14, authorizing the purchase by Hay Municipal Telephone Sys- tem of certain telephone cir- cuits from the Bell Telephone Company, between Kkiva and the Grand Bend Airport. Clerk Brokenshire was auth- orized to make payment to Les Beattie. of Seaforth, the amount of 80% of his contract for the work on the Thiel drain.
