day, November 2, was held in
Trinity Anglican Church, Mit-
chell, last Monday afternoon,
Mr. Lawrence, who was in his
81st year, was born in Logan
Township on June 4, 1881, a
son of the late Mr. and Mrs.
William Lawrence. Seven years
ago he moved from Mitchell to
St. Marys, where he operated a
hotel business. He was a mem-
ber of the Orange Lodge No.
909, Mitchell,
• For a number of years Mr.
- Lawrence was a resident of
Zurich, where his son William
now lives.
Surviving besides his wife,
are three sons, William, Zur-
- ich; Fred, Mitchell; Hilliard,
HensaIl; one daughter, Alice,
Mrs. Fred Brown, Amultree,
and one step -daughter, Velma,
Mrs. Irvin Marblestone, San
Francisco, Cal., also 17 grand-
children. One brother and
three sisters predeceased him.
Rev. R. G. Russell, of St
Marys, was assisted by Rev. F.
Tomkinson, Mitchell, in conduc-
ting the service. Many flowers,
and mission cards were receiv-
ed. Flower bearers were Ho- and Rev. Will Robinson, Oak
ward, Fred, Eugene and Gary Ville, Manitoba.

year, after a brief illness.
Mr. Robinson was the son of
the late Edward Robinson and
Annie Orr and lived the early
part of his life on the Goshen
Line, Stanley Township.
In 191.1 he married Annie
Reid who predeceased him in
1943, They farmed on the Go-
shen Line until 1939, when they
retired to Egmondville,
Mr. Robinson was an active
and faithful member of the
former Methodist Church and
later the United Church, of Go-
shen and Eginondville. He ser-
ved as Elder in both churches
and rendered his services to
the choirs for 60 years. He
was also treasurer of Egmond-
ville church for 15 years and
taught the Bible Class until
three weeks before his death.
He is survived by three
daughters, Mrs. Elmer (Marg-
aret) Stephenson, Eginondville;
Mrs, Bruce (Grace) McClinch-
ey, Goderich; Mrs. Andrew ',Is-
abel) McKenzie, Acton, and 12
granchildren. Also surviving
are one sister, Mrs. Margaret
Erratt, Toronto and two broth-
ers, Richard Robinson, on the
homestead, Stanley Township,
Friends and relatives were
present from San Francisco,
Montreal; St. Marys, Amultree,
Zurich, Hensall, Brodhagen,
Mitchell and surrounding town-
ships.

weekend in Toronto, and while
there attended the Royal Win-
ter Fair.
Mr. and Mrs. William Facey,
Miss Amelia Clausius and Louis
Welker, all of Tavistock, were
the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Hen-
ry Clausius and Mr. and Mrs.
Elmore Beierling, over the
weekend.
Mr. and Mrs. Leeland Willert
celebrated their 23rd wedding
anniversary on Sunday, Novem-
ber 12,

Jenny Schilbe and Mrs. Annie
Finkbeiner were in Brodhagen
on Sunday, attending the 60th
wedding anniversary of Mr, and
Mrs. Eli Rapien.
Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Jeffrey
and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Sol-
omon Bechard, all of Windsor,
and Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Jef-
frey. of Goderich, were week-
end visitors with their mother,
Mrs. Pauline Jeffrey, and boys.
Mr. and Mrs. Jerome Geof-
frey have taken up residence in
Tillsonburg, where Jerome will
be playing goal for the inter-
mediate hockey team in that
town.
Mrs. Frank Kane and daugh-
ter, Anne, of Montreal, are
spending several days with rel-
atives and friends in the Zurich
district.

spent the weekend in Windsor,
where they attended the 44th
wedding anniversary of her
parents, Mr. and Mrs, George
St. Louis.
Mr. and Mrs. Elmore Claus-
ius, of Windsor, were weekend
visitors with Mr, and Mrs. Hen-
ry Clausius and other friends
and relatives in the district.
Peter Deichert, of Zurich, has
been picking fresh raspberries
in his garden almost every day,
until the recent frosts arrived.
On Thursday, November 9. Mr.
Deichert brought a stock with
fresh raspberries on it into the
newspaper office.
Three trustees from St. Bon-
iface School, Zurich, Mrs. Jack
Pearson, Tony Charrette and
Mozart Gelinas, attended the
ninth London Dioceson Trus-
tees Conference on Sunday at
I Colborne Community Centre.
Receives Degree
Miss Sara Jane Bannister,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. E.
Bannister, Zurich, has been suc-
cessful in receiving her RN De-
gree. She wrote her examina-
tions at St. Joseph's Hospital,
London. At present Miss Ban-
nister is on the staff at the New
Liskeard Hospital.
Hunters Home
One party of deer hunters,
Earl Yungblut, Ferd Haberer,
Jake Haberer and Leroy O'Brien
have returned home from their
expedition to the Haliburton
district. The group they were
with shot six deer.

How is Your Sense of Value?
Never give your hearts to this world or lo any of the things

DISTRICT OBITUARIES
Mrs. A. Bedour
After a lengthy illness, Mrs.
Albert Bedour passed away in
Goderich Alexandra and Mar-
ine Hospital, on Sunday, Nov-
ember 12, in her 70th year,
She was the former Edith Car-
oline Denomme.
Born in Hay Township, Feb-
ruary 20, 1892, she was a daugh-
ter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Re-
gis Denomme. In 1911 she
married Albert Bedour, and
for many years they farmed on
the Bluewater highway in Stan
ley Township, before retiring to
Zurich some years ago.
Surviving besides her hus-
band are four sons; Gordon,
Goderich; John Richard, Gocle
rich; Armand, Goderich, Theo-
dore (Bill), Zurich; five daugh-
ters, Louise, Mrs, Adrean Den-
omme, Zurich; Luella, Mrs. Er-
nie Fisher, Goderich; Gerald-
ine, Mrs. Lester Banks, Tar -
onto; Lucille, Mrs. Lawrence
Brisson, St. Thomas; Cecile,
Mrs. Leo Meidinger, Zurich;
two brothers, Maxime Denom-
ime Islington; Armand, Zurich;
two sisters, Mrs. George Jef-
frey, RR 2, Zurich; and Mrs.
Beatrice Overholt, RR 2, Zur-
ich. There are also 31 grand-
children and two great grand-
children,
The body rested at the West-
lake funeral home, Zurich, un-
til Wednesday morning, when
removal was made to St. Boni-
face Church, Zurich, where Re-
quiem Mass was sung at 10:00
a.m, Interment was made in
St, Peter's Cemetery, St. .Jos-
eph. Father C. A. Doyle offic-
iated.
Blake Horner
A prominent resident of Hay
Township for many years, Ed-
ward Blake Horner passed
away in Victoria Hospital, Lon-
don, on Monday, November 13,
in his 76th year. His wife is
the former Dora Catherine Gei-
ger, and they have farmed most
of their married life on the
14th concession, Hay Township.
Born in Stanley Township on
August 1, 1886, Mr. Horner was
the son of the late Mr. and
Mrs. J. W. Horner. He mar-
ried in 1913.
In 1947 when the Hay Town-
ship School Area was formed
Mr. Horner was a trustee on
the board. He served from
1947 to 1953, and before that
he was a trustee on the school
board of SS 14, Hay, for a num-
ber of years.
Surviving besides his wife
are three sons, Harold, Hay
Township; Keith, Hay Town-
ship: Robert, at home; three
daughters, Mrs. Ervin (Greta)
Schade, Dashwood; Mrs. Neil
(Jean) Witmer, Goderich; Mrs.
Harrison (Doris) Shoch, Zurich;
one brother, Albert Horner,
Seaforth; and two sisters, Mrs.
Laura Inas, Brucefield: and
Mrs. Myrtle Krueger, Sarnia.
There are a16 14 grandchild-
ren and three great grandchild-
ren.
The body is resting at the
Westlake funeral home, Zurich,
where a public funeral service
will take place en Thursday,
November 16, at 2:00 p.m. In-
terment will be made in the
Evangelical UB Cemetery,
Bronson Line, with Rev. A. M.
Amacher officiating.

Clifford Talbot
Clifford Elgin Talbot, a high-
ly esteemed resident of the
Bluewater Highway, Stanley I
Township, passed away in Vic-
toria Hospital, London, on Fri-'
day, November 10, He was in
his 55th year.
Born in Stanley Town-
ship on March 1, 1907, he ,
was a son of Mrs. Alfred
Scotchmer and the late Edward
Talbot. His wife is the former
Mina Cornish.
For some years Mr. and Mrs.'
Talbot Iived in Goderich, before i
taking up residence on the
Bluewater highway, Mr. Talbot
was a building contractor, He,
has taken an active part in the
South Huron Camp of Gideons
for many years.
Surviving besides his wife
and mother are two sons, Don-'
ald, Three Hills, Albert; Clif- i
ford Jr., London; two daugh
ters, Mrs. Eric (Kathleen) Clea-,
ve, Kitehner; Louise, at honk;
two brothers, Rev. Lawrence,
Harriston; Milton, Stanley
Township; and one sister, Ilene,
Mrs. Logan Cleave, Stanley;
Township. There are also
three grandchildren.

S. Zimmerman
A resident of Zurich for
many years, Solomon• Zimmer-
man passed away in South Hu-
ron Hospital, Exeter, on Friday,
November 10, in his 87th year.
He was born in Hay Tbwnship
on May 12, 1875, a son of the
late Mr. and Mrs. Christian
Zimmerman. His wife is the
former Elizabeth Schroeder,
For some years, Mr. and Mrs.
Zimmerman farmed on the
Bronson Line, then on the Go-
shen Line, before retiring to
Zurich, where they have lived
since.
Surviving besides his wife
are a number of nieces and
nephews.
The funeral service was held
at the T. Harry Hoffman funer-
al home, Dashwood, on Tues-
day, November 14, with inter-
ment in the Evangelical UB
Cemetery, Bronson Line. Rev.
A. M. Amacher officiated.
Pallbears were Edwin Gas-
cho, Norman Gascho, Clarence
Gascho, William Siebert, Ro-
bert Williams and Carl Oest-
reicher.
