The members of LOL 1035
treated their wives and famil-
ies to a chicken supper last Fri-
day* evening, which was. cater-
ed to by the ladies of Goshen
United Church, who lived up to
their reputation and provided
a most gorgeous meal.
Service of Remembrance
A Remembrance Day service
was held Sunday morning last
in the United Church, with the
pastor, Rev. T. 3. Pitt in charge,
The choir, under the direction
of the organist, Mrs. Robert
Stirling, sang the anthem "A
Mighty Fortress." After the
service the congregation para-
ded to the cenotaph a n d
wreaths were placed by mem-
bers of the Township Council,
Veterans and the Loyal Orange
Lodge.
A baptismal service will be
held in the United Church next
Sunday morning, November 12.

the road way were all in their
deepest slumber. That night, a
few miles to the north of Gode-
rich, we decided to retire for a
few hours to rest our aching
feet. We then entered the first
barn yard we came to and de-
cided to crawl in a straw stack,
When we came close we noticed
cattle who grazed during the
day would come in the barn
yard for shelter during the chil-
ly night. The barn was the
closest to the road, while the

and Bayfield when met by my
pal's father so we decided to
exit from the straw stack by
sliding down on one side, which
was the least high, so that we
would not hurt 'ourselves bc•
fore we had completed our
journey, But as luck would
have it we fell to the bottom
on a batch of young and middle
age pigs and naturally their dis-
turbance cause them to sqeal
to the full top of their lungs,
which would almost awaken the
surrounding dead. At that I
said to my pal, "let us go hard,"
in hobo language would mean
let us move fast. We did and
in no time we were on the road
way. The dog who was ' in a
shed or in hsi quarters, from
hearing the pigs, aroused him
