Mrs. Roy Brock is a patient at Clinton Public Hospital, in the interests of her health. Mrs. Wacker Carlile is con- fined to her home with illness. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Selves RR 1, Hensall, have a wild blue jay, a great pet, which they have had for four years and which does many imitations. It imitates a crow and a cat, whistles for the dogs, and many others. Miss Jane Horton, who is at- tending UWO, spent the week- end with her parents. The Exeter Branch of the Canadian Legion' attended in a body. Mr. Edgar Cudmore was chairman. Mrs. Peter Durand, of Exeter, was guest soloist, ac- companied by Mrs. Don Jolly, of Exeter. Rev. Pack Clothing Five cartons of used clothing was packed at the United Chur- ch, Thursday afternoon, which will be forwarded to Toronto fpr overseas relief. Mr. William Kyle, of Kippen, purchased the seven -room dwel- ling owned by the late Mrs. Jack Hudson at the auction sale held here Wednesday, Nov- ember 1. Mrs. Asa Deeves visited last week with relatives in London. the laying of the wreaths, a ser- vice will be held in the town hall, when guest speaker will be Rev, Ross D. MacDonald. Participating in the parade will be the Legion, Legion Aux- iliary, Scouts, Cubs, Guides and Brownies. The parade will be headed by a band. Mrs. John Mousseau, Grand Bend, is visiting her daughter Carmel Bazaar Succesful Event Help Building Fund The smart cookie recipe books which were offered for sale at the bazaar at the United Chur- ch, sponsored by the Evening Auxiliary, were designed and compiled by Mrs. P. L. Mc- Naughton, Mrs. Walter Spencer, Mrs. Jim Taylor and Miss Mary Goodwin. With the sale of 118 books, and donations, the aux- ilary will realize close to $300, for the Sunday School building fund project. Rev. and Mrs. Myles Ester - brook, of Oakville, are guests with Rev. and Mrs. R. D. Mac- Donald and family, at the Pres- byterian Manse, this week. Lovely articles were offered for sale with a splendid array of baking and produce. The candy booth, in charge of Mrs. Ross D. MacDonald and her CG• IT group, realized $20.54. And then, with the jaunty hoot of Reveille, the dying was ended and life began again. The shouted command, the lively march tune of the band, brought the wanted release from sad- ness, and we swung off merrily enough. And after the service, he warmth of the Legion Hall, with a good friends good fellow- ship, good refreshments and good stories by the hour. Ah, I'm sorry I won't be there this year. I'll miss every bit of it. Except the bit where I catch a phenomenal blast from my wife for arriving home 12 hours after the parade.
