Lutherans Plan Building Program ZURICH — At a meeting following the regular service on Sunday morning, the con- gregation of St. Peter's Luth- eran Church, Zurich, unanim- ously voted to proceed with a building improvement pro- gram. A report presented by the building executive com- mittee, and read by H. W. Brokenshire, t h e chairman, was adopted as a satisfactory statement of the program and building needs of the congre- gation on a long range basis. It was included in the motion that an architect be engaged to draw a comprehensive sket- ch plan, incorporating the sug- gestions and proposals of the report. This decision was welcomed enthusiastically by the church council, the Sunday School teachers, and many others, as it is the beginning of the ful- fillment of a vision that began many years ago and has been discussed again and again. Back in 1953, at the suggestion. of Rev. E. Heimrich, the con- regation asked to have the matter of better Sunday School facilities investigated. In 1956 the council again re- vived the issue, and last year the superintendent of the Sun- day School, on behalf of the teachers, urged the providing of more adequate facilities. The presentation of the five-page written report of the committee outlining the needs of the congregation culmina- tes a great number of commit- tee meetings over the past three months. A committee chaired by Ron Klapp reported on the wor- ship needs in the church. They made suggestions regarding the front entrance to the chur- ch, the organ, and choir cloak rooms. Another committee, chaired by Reginald Black, re- ported on the educational needs of the church, and pre- sented recommendations for the necessary classrooms for Sunday School. In conducting the Sunday meeting of the congregation, Pastor Fischer said, "It is im- portant to note that the con- gregation will be consulted at NOW IS THE TIME TO HAVE US INSTALL YOUR NEW HEATING SYSTEM FREE ESTIMATES For Plumbing, Heating, Wiring and Service Call J.
