Attend Reunion
Mr, and Mrs. George Hess at-
tended the Biggar Reunion held
at Strathroy, with members at-
tending from Sarnia, Tilison-
burg, Baden, Pontiac, Mich., and
Watford.
Miss Loretta. Bell, of London,
is holidaying at her home.
Margaret Allan is spending a
few days with her grandparents,
Mr. and Mrs. Norman Shiels, of
Belgrave.
Sandra Maxwell is spending a
week with her sister and broth-
er-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Don
Cooper, in Clinton..
Mr. and Mrs. E. R. Davis,
Michael and Kay, left Sunday
for a two week's vacation at the
lakeside, Port Elgin.
Mr. and Mrs. William McCrae
and Donald, of Ottawa, are
guests with Mr. and Mrs. Albert
Shirray, Douglas and Bruce,
Mr. and Mrs, R. A. Orr have
returned after spending a few
days visiting relatives at Sar-
nia and Flint, and Drayton
Plains, Mich., where they visit-
ed with three sisters and broth-
ers and families of Mrs. Orr,
and attended a christening of a
neice of Mrs. Orr, in Sarnia.
Sgt. and Mrs. Donald Orr, of
Mont Apica, Quebec, have re-
turned after visiting the form-
er's parents, Mr. and Mrs, R.
A. Orr and Jim.
Mr. and Mrs. Juan Hoist, of
Baden, were recent guests with
Mr. and Mrs. George Hess.
Hensall Firenienaresponded to
a chimney fire in the kitchen at
the home of Herb Hedden, on
Sunday afternoon, but fortun-
ately no damage was reported.
Mrs. Alice Joynt attended the
Joynt-Hall wedding at Belleville
on Saturday, August 12. The
groom, Dr. Larry Joynt, of To-
ronto, son of Mr. and Mrs. Laird
Joynt, also of Toronto, is the
grandson of Mrs. Joynt.

Mr. and Mrs. Ray Hedden, St.
Catharines, visited last week
with the former's grandmother,
Mrs. Catharines Hedden, and
uncle, Herb Hedden. Ray is
the son of Mr. and Mrs. Vernon
Hedden, of St. Catharines, for-
merly of Hensall, and the young
couple were on their wedding
trip.
Miss Olive Walker, Reg.N, of
St. Petersburg, Florida, return-
ed hone last Wednesday after
spending two weeks with her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. George
Walker. Miss Walker has been
a resident of St. Petersburg for
the past twelve years and is on
duty all the time as a nurse.
She made the trip by plane.
Mrs, Chester Lee, who has
spent the summer vacation with

relatives and friends in Vancou-
ver and Seattle, returned home
last week.
Mrs. Hogarth
Mrs. C. Arthur Hogarth, of
Oakville, the former Vera Mur-
dock, of Hensall, died in New-
market General Hospital, Satur-

cident near Lake Simcoe, on
Tuesday evening.
Her niece, Miss Dorothy
Campbell, of Toronto at whose
cottage she was vacationing at
Lake Simcoe, and driver of the
car, is in the hospital with a
crushed elbow and fractured
arm. Mrs. Hogarth, in her 77th
year, suffered a fractured pel-
vis and head injuries.
Her late husband, a native of
Norwich, was a bank manager
at Revelstoke where they lived
many years nefore Mrs. Hogar-
th took up residence in Oakville.
She was a former music teach-
er in Hensall.
Surviving are three sons,
Bruce, of Vancouver, B.C.; Den-
nis, Oakville; Leonard, Edmon-
ton, Alberta; one sister, Mrs. B,
Y. Campbell, Toronto.
Public funeral service was
held from the Bonthron funeral
chapel, on Tuesday, August 15,
conducted by Rev. Currie Win-
law. Interment was in Hensall
Union cemetery.
At Hog Meeting
Ross Love, Hensall; John Sol-
dan, Zurich; Lloyd Stewart,
Clinton, and Alfred Beacon,
Belgrave, attended a meeting of
Hog Producing Marketing Board
held at the Seaway Hotel, Tor-
onto, on Wednesday last.
Gone West
Mrs. Kate Smith and daugh-
ters Lois and Wilma, of Moose
Jaw, Sask., who have been vac-
ationing with Mrs. Smith's sis-
ter and brother-in-law, Mr, and.
Mrs. Henry Fuss, left for their
home in the west over the week-
end, accompanied by Mrs. Fuss
and Miss Agnes Cochrane, of
Clinton, who will visit with
them and' with their brother,
Robert Cochrane, at Grand Prai-
rie, Alta. They will return
home by jet. Mrs. Bruce Walk-
er, of town, is also a sister of
Mrs. Smith,
