Mr, and Mrs. Albert Erb, ac-
compained by Mr. and Mrs. Earl
Oesch, spent the weekend at
Pennsylvania.
Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Steckle
and Mary Ellen, accompanied
by Mr. and Mrs. William Steck-
le and son Robert, spent Sunday
with the former's sister and
brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ed-
ward Frey and son Arnold, at
Elmira.
Mr. and Mrs. Heinz Benedic-
tus and Johnnie and Karen, of
Sarnia, spent the weekend with
Mr. and Mrs. Amos Gingerich
and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Ginger-
ich.
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Weidrich
and family accompanied by the
latter's mother, Mrs. Nancy
Swartzentruber, are visiting at
New York for a few days.

OBITUARY
Mrs. W. Workman
Mrs. William Workman died.
at her home in Tuckersmith on
Monday, July 24, in her 86th
year.
She was the former Isabelle
McGregor, the eldest daughter
of the late Mr. and Mrs. Duncan
McGregor of Kippen.
Mrs. Workman spent her en-
tire life in this area. Her hus-
band died six years ago,
Surviving are one son, Win-
ston of Kippen, and a daugh-
ter, Mrs. Lloyd Bowerman of
Listowel and one grandson, Bill
Workman.
Funeral service was held on
Thursday, July 27, at the Bon-
thron funeral home, Hensall,
with Rev. H. Johnston officiat-
ing. Burial was in Hensall Un-
ion Cemetery.
Pallbearers were neighbours:
Alex McGregor, Archie Hoggar-
th, Jack Sinclair, Arrie Binnen-
dyk, Allan and Wilson Tremeer.
Flower bearers were John and
Douglas McrGegor.

THURSDAY, AUGUST 17, 1961

The body rested at the Futh-
er-Omand funeral home, New
Hamburg, where the funeral
Noah S, Bender, 80, New
Hamburg, died Thursday at the
Kitchener - Waterloo Hospital
where he had been a patient for
two weeks. He had been in fail-
ing health for some. time...
Mr. Bendur was well known
in the dist let, having farmed
in the area for 35 years before
retiring and moving to New
Hamburg 18 years ago.
He was born in East Zorra
Township, May 13, 1881, a son
of the late Solomon M. Bender
and his wife Veronica Steinman.
His wife, the former Magdalena
Ruby died in November, 1949.
Surviving are six sons, Mel-
vin, Ailsa Craig; Elton, Varna;
Curtis, Spring Bay, Manitoulin
Island; Ervin, Baden; Reuben
and Elza, New Hamburg; three
daughters, Miss Verda, New
Hamburg; Mrs. Rueben (Fanny)
Gingerich, Ailsa Craig; Mrs.
Curtis (Mary) Gingerich, Zurich;
one brother, Simon, Ailsa Craig;
two sisters, Mrs. Katie Baechler,
