spent a few days last week with

Mrs. Alfred Moffat, Kippen,
Mrs. Alberta McBeath, Hensel",
and Mrs. Harold Moffatt, Lond-
on, attended a trousseau tea at
Chatham, Friday evening last,
given by Mrs. Campbell, in hon-
er of her daughter, Mary, whose
marriage to Gerald Moffatt, of
Kippen, takes place this Satur-
day, August 5.
Mr. and Mrs. Howard P etti-
grew and daughters, Denise,
Christene, and Valeria, of Lin-
coln Park, Mich.. are spending
two weeks vacationing at the
Hess Haven cottage in the Pin-
ery. Mr. Pettigrew is a new -
phew of Mrs. Hess.
Mrs. Mary Taylor left Tues-
day by jet for England for a
vacation with relatives after an
absence of 51 years.
Mrs. Edna Pace, Mrs. Vera
Golden, Mr. and Mrs. Mervyn
Hedden, Brantford, were Sun-
day visitors with Mrs. Catharin-
ese Hedden and Herb.

A presentation for Mr. Hugh
Ferguson, of Delray, Florida,
whose marriage to Mrs, Nelson
Burley, of Ascoda, Mich.. will
last week.

At the Hess Haven Cottage at
the Pinery, on Sunday, Mr. and
Mrs. George Hess entertained
Dr. B. A. Campbell, of Toronto,
Mr. and Mrs. Keith Campbell
and Barbara, of Windsor; and
Mr. and Mrs, Ed Stelck. of Dash-
wod, and attended the Gospel
Services at the Starlite Drive -In
'five miles east of Grand Bend,
Sunday evening.
Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Moir and
Gary are vacationing in Clinton,
with the latter's parents.
Bill Austin, of Seaforth, won
$350 at a bingo in Walkerton

Dr, Katharine Hockin at the Na-
tional CGIT Leaders' Conferen-
ce being held at Bishop's Univ-
ersity in Lennoxville, Quebec,
from July 22 to 29, as she strove
to broaden the concerns of the
leaders present. Dr. Hockin is
a staff member of the Student
Christian movement in Canada,
and a former missionary teacher
in China.
To help Canadian Girls In
Training understand the girls in
their groups, Miss Ruth Low, a
teacher on the staff of Bishop's
University, is leading a work-
shop on the adolescent. Other
work groups help leaders to un-
derstand the purpose and pro-
gram for this mid -week pro-
gram of the church.
In the evening, the leaders
are introduced to new skills in
music, Christian drama, recre-
ation, handicrafts and audio -vis-
uals.
Among the exhibits is a col-
lection of 60 religious prints on
the life of Jesus by Michelange-
lo, Raphael, Rembrandt, Renault
Dali and others. Another. is a
craft display gathered from
many resourses in the Province
of Quebec.
To this Conference 300 dele-
gates have come from every
province in Canada from New-
foundland to British Columbia,
representing the Baptist Chur-
ch, the Church of Christ (Disci-
ples), the Presbyterian Church

former soldier, civil servant, school master and welfare work-
er, has been a broadcaster since 1943. This year he marks
