NEWS THURSDAY, MARCH 16, 1961 Ontario Federation of Agriculture Offers Sapp rt To Milk Act Changes Members of the Ontario Feder- ation of Agriculture agreed last Friday to support Ontario's four milk producer groups in their ef- forts to get amendments to the Milk Industry Act in the near fut- ure. The milk producers will be seeking the mendinents to enable them to implement a new milk mar- keting plan in Ontario. The request of OFA support arose as a result of recent studies on milk marketing problems by a special committee engaged by On- ario milk producers. A new plan has not yet been approved by the milk producers but enabling leg- islation will be necessary for any new plan embracing all milk and cream producers, OFA members directed their or- ganization to provide $500 financ- ial support to a special co-operative commission on marketing, estab- approved. lished recently by the Co-operative Union of Ontario. The commission will study in detail the relation- ships existing between farm co- operatives and farm marketing boards. Both types of organizations are farmer -owned but perform differ- ent services. Farmers are now wondering whether co-operatives and marketing boards will conflict with each other and if so, how can the conflict be removed. Members also passed a resolution approving the use of Hydro -Power operated electric fencers for farm fences, but only if it is approved by Ontario Hydro -Electric Power Commission, and the Canadian Standards Association. The OFA is authorized by members to under- take educational work on the pro- per use of such fencers if they are TIEMAN'S HARD d9 Plumbing 0 Heatins' ARE 0 Oil burner Service as Electrical Work SALES and SERVICE FURNITURE, COAL and CEMENT PH NE 8 — DASHWOOD INKIx. The "Rocket" retired from hock- ey last October, and now earns $25,000 yearly, bouncing about the country, promoting hockey among minor league organizations. "I travel more now, stay away from my wife and six children more now, than when I was playing, he complained to Tom Aldercan, of Li- berty magazine. The sports writer recently followed Richard through a day's ambassadoring at Wallac- burg. In 13 hours, he visited eight schools, answered numerous quest- ions, signed hundreds of autogra- phs, attended a banquet, faced -off a hockey game, and read the same BLUEWATER Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Capner- hurst, Ronald and Ian, Siske, Sask., visited his neice, Mrs. James Cleave and family, for a few days after attending their daughter's wedding in Trenton. "I've got a lousy memory, Ri- chard explained. He showed Al- derman the three-page speech, say- ing: "Since October, I've given this same speech to hockey groups all across the country, It's about my- self, but I can't remember a word of it." "Sometimes I get fed up with go- ing places and seeing people," Ri- chard said. "I get tired of shaking all those hands and signing all those autographs. Being a hero isn't all that exciting." Despite the hectic grind, the "Rocket" manages to keep cheer- ful before his young fans. At a Wallaceburg school, he laughed good-humourdly when one small - fry asked: "Who are you sir?" Richard feels he's not equipped for jobs outside hockey, because of a limited education. He believes he's too old, at 39, to referee or coach. "I knew it would be lonely when I quit playing," the 18 -seas- on hockey veteran said. "I just hope I can always be connected with hockey in some way." 0 Hensall Wins (By our Hensall correspondent) Hensall defeated Kensal Park, 6-0 in the first game of a best -of -three Shamrock Pee Wee Hockey semi- final series at Lucan.
