Mr. and Mrs. Ken Crisp and Bar- bara were Sunday visitors whMrsHowald, Crisp's father, Mr. Henry in Zurich. Mrs. William Thiel spent a few days last week with her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Heywood, in Wingham. She re- turned on Sunday with Mr, and Mrs. Heywood, who spent the week- end in Zurich. Mr, and Mrs. Raymond Hartman, Mrs George Regier and Cathy, Don - Mrs. Ross McNabb and sons, spent Sunday in London with Mr. and Mrs. Ross Gascho and family. Mr. and Mrs. Elmore Thiel and Mr, and Mrs. Henry Clausius atten- ded ttended the funeral of the late Mrs. John Doerr, at Blyth, on Saturday. Also attending from Zurich was Mr. Milford Doerr. Mrs. Theresa Hartman and son, Cyril, were Monday visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Ed Hartman in Kit- chener. Miss Dianne Thiel, of London, spent a few days over the week- end at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs, Charles Thiel. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Gascho spent the weekend in Preston. Miss Kathleen Hess, of London. {l Attend Demonstration Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Gelinas and , Mr. and Mrs. Earl Thiel last Fri - family, of London, were visitors day attended the demonstration and over the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Ben McCann. showing of work being done at the Ridgetown Agricultural School, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Brisson where their son, Douglas, is taking ZURICH CITIZENS NEWS OBITUARY Adolph Kalbfleisch Funeral service for the late Ad- olph Christian Kalbfleiseh, one of the most highly esteemed residents of Zurich, was held at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Zurich, on Wed- nesday afternoon at 2 p.m. Mr. Kalbfleisch passed away in South Huron Hospital, Exeter, on Sunday, March 5, in his 84th year. He was born in Hay Township on November 19, 1877, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Kalbfleisch. and family, of St. Thomas, spent the weekend with relatives and friends in Zurich. Little Joey Hartman, of London, is visiting with his grandmother, Mrs. T. Hartman for a few days, while his little brother, Pat, is in St. Joseph's Hospital, London, un- dergoing an operation. Mr. and Mrs. Clare Geiger and a two-year course in general work. Part of the demonstration was shown on the London television station. Douglas is doing very well at the school, being near the top in his class of some 90 students. Holidaying In South Mr. Gordon Smith, of the Blue - water Highway south, is spending everyone in the community, and will be greatly missed. Surviving besides his wife is one brother, George, of Tampa, Florida. Three brothers, Charles, Freder- ick and Edmund, pre -deceased him. The body rested at the Westlake funeral home, Zurich, until Wed- nesday, when the service was held at the church. Interment was made in the Lutheran Cemetery, on the Goshen Line. Rev. W. P. Fis- cher officiated, Pallbearers were: Lorne Klopp, James Parkins, Albert Deichert, Tom Rawlings, Claire Deichert, and Orville Witmer, On February 4, 1908, Mr. Kalb- fleisch married Margaret Schnell, in Detroit, where they spent the greatest part of their married life. He went to Detroit as a young man, and was the proprietor of a thriv- ing lumber business in that city until about 10 years ago, when they decided to retire in Zurich. The deceased was keenly inter- ested in all the affairs of the com- munity, and was an ardent follow- er of both baseball and hockey teams. He was a true friend of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Erb motored' a vacation in sunny Bermuda, leav- to Galt on Sunday, where they spent the day with friends and re- latives.
