ST. JOSEPH and DRYSDALE
CAL FRED DUCHARME, Corresuondenti
and family, on the Bluewater
Highway, for a delicious meal and
get together for an evening. The
occasion being the 57th wedding
anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Fred
Ducharme, and the 27th wedding
anniversary of their daughter, Mr.
and Mrs. Ty Stansberry. The ev-
ening was a joyful event. After
partaking of a delicious supper,
prepared by the hostess, refresh-
ments were served. There was
much chit chat, renewing incidents
of the many years gone by.
Gifts were preesnted to the cele-
brants, and also good, wishes for
more happy years, to both parties
concerned.
Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Bossen-
berry, who own a cottage at the
Ducharme summer resort, and
where they spend most of their
time, left on Tuesday last, for Flor
ida, where they will spend the
winter. They expect to return to
their cottage in the early spring.
Several from this area attended
the funeral of the late William
Mireau. He was born in the Drys-
dale district, where he lived until
the family moved to Zurich.
We also report the death of
Philbert Denomme, also a native
of this parish, and a long time re-
sident of St. Joseph. Finding
farming too hard on his health, he
and his wife sold their farm and
moved to Tilbury. He was employ-
ed there by Philip Bedard, who
owns a shoe business.
Mr. Denomme was in his 61st
year, and leaves to mourn his loss,
his wife Elizabeth, three brothers
and a sister. Mr. Denomme was
popular and had many friends and
will be greatly missed.
On Saturday evening last the
Ducharnnes, with their better
halves, of Detroit, Windsor and
Dashwood, gathered at the home
of Mr. and Mrs. Avila Ducharme

given them the time expected to
store away their winters supply of
necessities of life.
Of course not only the Indians
benefit by the nice weather to
date. This year the Indian sum-
mer brought back memories of the
old legend when people looked
for it after the first snowfall of
the month of November.
Indian summer for some is only
a passing event and not worthy of
consideration, for they take other
means of their predictions, ruling
out all signs, and establishing in
the minds of the younger genera-
tions to meet with current affairs
of this epoch.
To the older people they feel
that nature has its existing ways
of carrying out day to day and it
has been many times proven that
when you least expect it you are
disappointed, or .should we say
something goes against your grain,
then the unbelievers begin to real-
ize that nature has the determining
factor in this curious world, leav-
ing you wondering what next will
happen to you.
