RECIPE BOX
FISH. AND CHIP CASSEROLE
1 8 oz. can salmon
1 can cream of mushroom soup
cup cracker crumbs
? a cup milk
1.4 cup minced onion
salt and pepper to taste
1 small package potatoe chips
Put in greased casserole in lay-
ers, ending with chips on top.
Bake 20 minutes at 400 degrees
CHOCOLATE MILK SYRUP
1 cup cocoa
11! cups sugar
1% cups water
1,"3 teaspoon salt
Stir above ingredients until dis-
solved, then boil for 5 minutes.
Store in refrigerator.

11k cups rolled oats
1 cup desiccated coconut
114 cups flour
teaspoon baking soda
1e teaspoon baking powder
teaspon salt
t; teaspon vanilla or almond
extract
Drop by teaspon on greased
cookie sheet and bake at 350 de-
grees.
CHERRY ORANGE BREAD
21x: cups sifted all purpose flour
Slit teaspoons baking powder
Via• teaspoons salt
11 teaspons cinnamon
l J teaspoon nutmeg
2/3 cup sugar
lb. chopped candied cherries
1:6 lb. chopped citron peel
2 teaspoons grated orange rind
2 eggs
114 cups milk
2 tablespoons shortening
Sift together the flour, baking
powder, salt, spices and sugar.
Stir in the fruits and grated oran-
ge rind until well coated with
flour. Combine well beater, eggs,
milk and shortening and stir into
dry ingredients just until blend-
ed. Pour into greased loaf pan
(size about 101sx4x2 and a half in-
ches or 9 and a half by 5 by 2 and
a half inches) and let stand 15
minutes. Bake at 350 degrees for
1 hour or a little more. Brush
loaf while still hot with hot corn
syrup and garnish with bits of
Bandied cherries.

The regular meeting of the
WSWS of the Evangelical UB
Church was held Friday, October
14, with the Spiritual Life group
in charge, and Mrs. J. W, Gillings
as chairlady. Subject was 'Our
Missions at Ilome." Mrs. Lloyd
Beaver read the Scripture and
Miss Jessie Rader, Mrs. Wes. En-
geland, Mrs. C. Merner and Mrs,
Carl Oestreicher spoke on home
missionaries past and present.
Mrs. George Link spoke on her
visit to the mission work at Ebor
City, Florida. A Thankoffering
Pageant, "For all • His benefits"
was presented by Mrs. Gillings,
Mrs. Gerald Mason, Mrs. Katie
Weigand, Mrs. Charles Snell, Mrs.
Ewin Schade, Mrs. Stewart Wolfe,
Mrs. Bob Hamather and Mrs. Ho-
ward Klumpp.
Members of the choir, Mrs. Ken
McCrae, Mrs. George Tiernan, Mrs.
Lloyd Guenther, Mrs. G. Bender
and Mrs. Eben Weigand sang
Thanksgiving hymns.
The president, Mrs. Snell, pre-
sided for the business. Used
clothing will be packed October
23. Five dollars was donated to
the blind. Lunch was served by
Mrs. Art Haugh, Mrs. Link, Mrs.
Merner, Mrs. Lloyd Eagleson and
Mrs. J. Rader. One new member,
Mrs. Don Masnica, was welcomed.

Will Collect For UNICEF
The pupils of Dashwood Public
School will be collecting money
for UNICEF this Hallowe'en.
Dashwood Merry Maids
The second meeting of Dash-
wod 4-H Homemaking Club was
held Thursday, October 20, in the
men's club room with the leaders,
Mrs. Gordon Bender and Mrs:l
Leonard Schenk, and 12 girls pres-
ent. One new member, Mary Vis-
scher, joined.
Hospitality was discussed under
the following headings, The hos-
tess, invitations, the guest room,
suggestions for the room, and the
guest. Informal invitations were
written.
Mrs. Leonard Schenk demon-
strated the packing of a suit -case
and gave the rules for packing
one.
Roll call for next meeting, "The
type of reference file I have
chosen,” Horne assingment, "De-
cide on method of filing. Begin
collecting material for file. Write
a thank you note, Work on rec-
ord book."
