THANKSGIVING Another holiday has passed on, and one which has much import- ance, Thanksgiving Day. 0 n e among the greatest of the year, it is set aside for one purpose and that is to thank God for all we have received and the many Bless- ings accorded us during the year. But, how many of us take this okay as 0110 of thanksgiving, We have other plans framed up to pass the day in enjoyment to ourselves, looking for more good things in life and not realizing where they come from. How many of us bowed our heads in reverence to show our nppreciaion for all we have received. How many of us entered a place of worship and knelt in silence and peacefully thanking God, and asking divine guidance during the coining year. Those who have taken the privi- lege of the day to visit relatives or dear ones and have travelled afar, to some extent they have made an act of thanksgiving, for many have put their life at stake to do so. Others who have shared some of their surplus to worthy causes, and not expecting returns, they too to some extent have given thanks for. they have in words and action shared with the needy. It is regrettable that so many lives are lost during such holidays, leaving a wound to many that even time will not cure, for perhaps the act of committing a good dead; some were victims of tradegy in PAGE THREE they too have rendered thanks. 0 Phone Robberies Bring Jail Terms Three St. Thomas youths, who were remanded last Monday in Goderich until Thursday for sen- tence in connection with the rob- bing of a telephone booth at St. Joseph, were all given jail terms when they pleaded guilty 'to charges of theft, public mischief, and possessing housebreaking tools. Gerald Lang received two months in county jail for possess- ing housebreaking instruments and one month on each of the other charges, with all terms to be served concurrently.
