Bride Honoured
Prior To Marriage
A very enjoyable evening was
spent Monday in the school room
of the United Church, Hensall,
when over sixty neighbours and
friends gathered to honor Miss
Connie Corbett, bride -elect of this
month.
Mrs. Robert Pryde favoured
with piano selections, Mrs. Harold
Parker contributed a humorous
reading "I couldn't help laughing",
and a reading to the bride -elect
"Little Girl At The Altar". A
number of gifts were passed to
music and won by those in poss-
ession •of the gifts at the conelu-

bride, who was seated in a decor-
ated chair, by Miss Gwen Chap-
man of London. The miscell-
aneous gifts were presented by
Misses Vera road June Tinney and
Miss Pat Bell.
Connie expressed sincere thanks
for the gifts, and her mother ,Mrs.
John Corbett, invited all to a
trousseau tea at their home this
Saturday :afternoon and evening.
A •surprise shower was also
given the bride by a number of
girl friends at the London Life,
where she is employed.

Ladies' Aid Meet
On Tuesday Night
On Tuesday evening the Ladies
Aid of St. Peter's Lutheran Church
held their regular monthly meet-
ing in the basement of the church'
with 26 members, one visitor and
the pastor present.

the meeting with the singing of
a hymn and the reading of Psalm
24 responsively. Miss Sue Anne
Coxon and Dorothy Wagner fav-
oured the ladies with a piano solo,
followed by a prayer and the clos-
ing hymn.
The president, Mrs. O. W. Brok-
enshire, took charge of the busi-
ness part of the meeting. The
visiting committee reported mak-
ing 14 calls. The members decid-
ed that group one cater to the
Sector Project supper, which will
be held in November. It was also
agreed to secure a film on the
Lutheran Liturgy.
A donation from the Ladies' Aid
is to be sent to the Canadian Nat-
ional Institue for the Blind.
