ST. JOSEPH acid DRYSDALE
(.AL. FRED DUCHARME, CorresatondenU
Mr. and Mrs, Nelson Bedard and
the latter's daughters motored to
Windsor on Saturday last to att-
end a graduation class of Theresa
Flood, oldest daughter of Mrs.
Bedard, which took place from
Corpus Christie School, and the
ceremony was at Sacred Church,
The graduate, Miss Theresa Flood,
is in St. Joseph's Hospital, in
training for a nurse. While in
Windsor the Bedards visited rela-
tivesand friends, as the latter is
a native of Windsor, her hone
city.
Paul Ducharme, son of 'William
Ducharme of this highway, had the
mishap to get one of his hands
entangled in a saw while employed
in Bayfield Mill.
PRETTY WEDDING
A very lovely wedding took
place in St. Peter's Church, St.
Joseph, when Peter Bedard, of the
Drysdale district and Theresa
Ducharme, also of this parish, be-
came husband and wife. The cele-
brant being Father Poisson, both
at Mass. and Ceremony.
It was a beautiful October day
and many attended Mass, and
followed the newly married couple
to the respectable home of their
parents.
The reception, in the evening,
was held in the Zurich Arena with
a large number in attendance to
bestow their best wishes to the
young couple. After their honey-
moon they will reside in this
Parish.
NOT GOOD
While the famous Daylight Sav-
ing time is still in effect in this
Parish mothers are falling in line
with the Women's Institute idea
against it's continuation. They
regard it as imposing on them for
no just cause, to stretch it through-
out the month of October, except
that some would be confused in
their T. V. programs. Mothers
claim they have to rise -long before
dawn to prepare their children
for bus transportation to school.
Already they say they are accused
of letting their children watch
T. V. instead of putting them to
bed at a reasonable hour. Fine
for those whose families are grown
up - or others who are childless.
Mothers feel that such people be
more sympathetic and study nat-
ure and the love of parents to-
wards their children, then per -

the reason for it, and from which
he was finally freed with the sante

AS FINE AS NEW
AS YOU CAN GO
Now! Full comfort, full luxury in a trimmerr
full size car
With a car that's so new clean through, Buick
was able to start right down on the ground and
compromise on no component all the way up.
IT STARTED WITH AN ALL-NEW FRAME
lluick's new X -frame mads
way for lower door sills, a
smoother, quieter ride;
easier handling and better insulation of the body
from road shock.
The new frame allowed a
NEW CONTROL -ARM SUSPENSION
From this came flatter cornering and mirror.
smooth going over the bumps as well as the
highway. Buick has a new semi -floating rear
axle, too! This combines what engineers call
Torque -Tube Drive and Hotchkiss Drive—
giving you the finest features of both.
The new axle allowed a
NEW HIDE -AWAY DRIVE SHAFT
Buick put a totally new kind of double -joint
into a 2 -piece drive shaft. This Iet it bend down
under your feet—and clown went the hump in
the middle to give you far more flat floor space
than before.

THE GEST

Now! The room, ride, go, pride

p he sav-
ings and ease of the small
It took combined GM and Buick
ingenuity to work the near miracle
which made this car possible. Here
is FULL-SIZE LIVING WITH
NEW -SIZE CONVENIENCE.
COMFORT? STRETCH OUT!
The Special gives you more headroom than most
new -size cars, more legroom than most new -
size cars, more shoulder room than most new -
size cars—and more total room for comfort.
CANADA'S ONLY ALUMINUM
TRANSMISSION
Not another new -size car has it! New
bir Dual Path Turbine Drive is the liveliest
automatic in any car. It's like having
"a -o transmissions—one with an oil connection
for infinite smoothness, the other with a direct
mechanical connection for greater go and greater
gas savings.
CANADA'S FIRST ALUMINUM V8
puts the power in the Special. It de-
velops astonishing power per pound.
The Special got this power without
adding weight. And there you have
the start of a great gas savings story.
SAVINGS?, TERRIFIC!
Tac Special gives you the gas savings of a coin-
paat without giving up go -power. It sells in a
p:ice area you'll like without giving up looks.
The miracle explained: the smartest engineering
in years plus the new wonder materials.
