Will Again Sponsor Baby Show Once again this year, the Zurich and District Chamber of Commerce are sponsoring a Baby Show, in connection with the Zurich Pall Fair. The contest is open to anyone, and will get under way sat 3 p.m. in the Community Centre, Two classes will again be avail- able for the mothers to enter their children in. One category is for babies 12 months and under, sand the other is for babies from 13 months to 24 months. Prizes in both classes will be $5, $3, $2, $1.50 and $1. Mothers requiring more informa- tion may contact either Albert Kalbfleisch, Milton Oeseh or Den- nis Bedard, the committee in charge of the show, 0 Twenty Lions e °eine Perfect Attendance Awards Lions International Counsellor Victor Dinnin presented 20 mem- bers of the Zurich Lions Club with perfect attendance chevrons at the regular dinner meeting •of the club in the Dominion Hotel on Monday night. Awards were presented as fol- lows: 13 years, Russell Grainger, Ed Gascho; 11 years, Delbert Gei- ger, Lloyd O'Brien; nine years, Ro- bert McKinley; eight years, Leroy Thiel; four years, Milfred Schilbe,- Jack Bannister; three years, Herb Turkheim, Don O'Brien, Doug O'Brien; two years, Morris Webb, Ken Parke, Don Oke, Ferd Haber- er, Nap Corriveau, V. L. Becker; one year, Arnold Merner, Howard Klopp, and Dr. W. B. Coxon. The Lions Club voted a donar tion of $30. to the Canadian Na- tional Institute for the Blind. The campaign locally is being held this week. Members of the club agreed to set up several games in the mid- way at the Fall Fair on Monday, with Don O'Brien as chairman of the project. Deputy District Governor Rus- sell Grainger gave the club an in- teresting report of the recent dis- trict meeting which he attended in Toronto. NEW STREETLIGHTS — The village of Zurich last week had 16 new streetlights installed on the main street, which added considerable light to the area. Shown here installing the new style fluores- cent lights are: standing on the truck, local hydro supervisor Milfred Schilbe, on the ladder, Jack Hood, of Grand Bend, who directed the installation, and on the hydro pole, Stephen Meidinger., of Ray Municipal Telephone System, who assisted in the project. Plans of the hydro system. are to install a number of the new lights each year, until all the old ones are finally replaced.
