Bride -Elect Is
Honoured Prior
To Fall Wedding
A bridal shower was held in ho-
nour of Miss Yvonne Ducharme
last Saturday night at the home
of Mrs. Beatrice Overholt, on the
Bluewater highway. The evening
was spent in playing an assort-
ment of games,
The presentation of gifts was
made by two junior bridesmaids,
Miss Linda Overholt and Miss Bar-
bara Ducharme, and the brides-
maid, Miss Evelyn Denomme.
Miss Ducharme thanked Mrs.
Ivan Meidinger and Mrs. George
Overholt for having the shower
arranged, and also those who were
present to make the evening a
success. She also thanked every-
one for the many lovely gifts.

Family Honours
Hugh Love On His
73rd Birthday
Mr. Hugh Love was honoured at
a gathering at Jowe'tt's Grove at
Bayfield, Sunday, on the occasion
of his 73rd birthday.
Over fifty friends and relatives
were present to enjoy a delight-
ful afternoon, highlighted with a
full line of sports and a pot luck
supper,
Winners of the sports were:
Races, boys and girls under 5
years, Mark Consitt; boys under
7, Bobby Snow; young ladies, Miss
Norma Love; young men, Lorne
Love; minute walk, Mrs. Harry
Norris; married ladies' race, Mrs.
Audrey Koehler; married men's
race, Ray Consitt.
Kick the slipper, ladies, Mrs. El-
va Webser; men, Ray Consitt; bal-
loon race, Percy Campbell; eat cra-
cker and whistle, Glen Koehler;
oldest person present, Hugh Love;
youngest, Leslie Consitt,

Mrs. Louis Clark .Sr., who took
up residence in Hensall last week,
was guest of honor at a farewell
party held at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Ken McLean and attended
by the neighbour ladies.
She was presented with a lovely
teapot, and cream and sugar in
gold and white motif, with Miss
Gwen McLean doing the honors.
The evening was spent playing
crokinole and euchre, after which
a delicious luncheon was served.
Mrs. McLean and Mrs, Ross For-
rest were in charge of the arrange-
ments,
Mr. Russell Kyle has return-
ed to St. Catharines, after a weeks
visit with his parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Thomas Kyle.
Mr. William Henry, who is a
patient in Clinton Public Hospital,
still remains about the same.
Miss Suzanne Wilton, Toronto,
was a guest with Mr. and Mrs.
John Soldan, Pat and Mike.
Mrs. Wes Verner, who has been

Mrs. Percy Campbell convened
the sports and Mrs. Bessie Luker
arranged the pot luck supper.

ren, was electrocuted while
using a defective electric sander,
fitted with a grindstone, to smooth
a new concrete floor. Ronald Mc-
Kay, of Clinton, is a son.

word from the Canadian Bankers
Association that he has placed
among the winners in an essay
contest sponsored by the Associa-
tion. He received a $50 cash award.
Miss Sylvia Henderson is spen-
ding a weeks' vacation with her
sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and
Mrs. Keith Lindsay and family, at
London.
Miss Bonnie Peters is vacation-
ing with her cousin, Miss Nancy
Sockett, of Fergus.
Mr. John Kipfer, 83, of Elkton,
Michigan, has returned home af-
ter a pleasant visit with his sis-
ter and brother-in-law, Mr. and
Mrs. Thomas Kyle. A native of
